There’s a feeling of detachment. Caused by a combination of not having been able to attend the ground for almost 9 months (and realistically unlikely to this side of Easter) and the manner in which the heart was ripped out of our club.
Yes, we’ve been relegated before, but always came back fighting. This feels totally different.
Even last season (so it’s not my age ) I could tell you who the next 6 games were against, Boxing Day, New Year, last game of the season etc, this season I have to look it up virtually game by game.
Don’t get me wrong, when the day finally comes, I’ll be there but we will be down to the hardcore loyalists. Some would say that wasn’t a bad thing; it sure doesn’t feel like it at the moment.
Being computer illiterate I am fairly new to this forum lark ( I still miss the football pink on a Saturday night ).However ,this does not make me any less of a Latics fan ,I have been watching them since the 1960s.I just miss the banter at the game and that great feeling after a victory. This administration has really ripped the heart and soul out of our club. We ,as fans ,have to stick together and believe the good times will return….. BELIEVE !
Hello gang I’m still around and well thanks, just been in my plastic bubble like a lot of other fans.
What happened to us in the past 7-8 months totally deflated me and many of my mates. I got to a point whereby it wouldn’t have bothered me if I never saw another football match again.
I looked at the team being put out every week and to me it wasn’t Wigan Athletic it was an Administration 11.
I know I’ve experienced worse times than this as a tics fan but this has felt so much different.
I’ve watched every game, but also not enjoyed any, even the few we’ve won.
With the new owners being just round the corner, I hope when they are appointed it gives us the lift we all need.
Have a great tier 3 christmas and a happy, prosperous and healthy new year everyone.

Know what you mean marrer in over 50yrs being a fan I’ve never been lower than Tuesday after the Rochdale game and I really hate football at present but at last we are coming out of this horrific part of our history. Despite their best efforts the despicable EFL have failed to destroy us and once we come out of administration the fight back will begin in ernest. Good to have you back on here and all the regulars will soon follow.
The darkest hour is always before dawn. Let’s hope the new dawn is breaking.
Its good to read some comments from the old faithfuls. It been hard to talk about Latics because what’s happened to us has been beyond unfair and you can only post so many anger fuelled rants before it takes its toll on you personally.
I have actually enjoyed seeing the youngsters come through, especially after following our youth cup campaign last season, but, the league table doesn’t lie and we need some fully fledged, fit, pros, to keep us up.
Keep he faith everyone and soon we can hopefully get back to attending matches and shout louder and prouder to support our lads on the pitch.
Me too, totally deflated with the whole situation, could have been watching any team didn’t feel like watching wigan athletic. The fa cup game did me, didn’t watch the games after that but felt like I couldn’t keep away so decided to watch last Saturday, thought I was in for a relaxing afternoon but no kept us on the edge of our seats again but really enjoyed the game. Hopefully things will get sorted soon and as fans we have to stick with it and we will, so UTFT and a happy Christmas to all.

Glad you are OK, like you i’m in the high-risk cat.
This Choi/Admin has hit us all for 6, me and my mates/relatives have watched Latics
for over 30 years and because we have said we are losing our interest not just with
Latics but Football in general, we have been accused as NOT being proper Latics fans,
you couldn’t make it up.
Too many ex-football league clubs are now playing non-league football and
not from natural relegation, we were heading the same way and still could be,
there will be more EFL clubs going to the wall,
if financial help does not come quickly enough and long enough.
