It looks like the Honduras connection is at it again. Juan Carlos looks like a superb addition, leaving us looking strong at the back. Ramis is aiming to be back training in 4 weeks, which is another big bonus.

So we ship off Figueroa and get his 25yo international replacement.

Yep I’ll settle for that, especially with a year in the championship to get ready for the Prem next season ;)

There’s no great saving in buying a player on a free transfer. It eventually costs just as much as buying a contracted player.

Agents aren’t stupid! Instead of paying a transfer fee to the former club, the new club pays the money to the player in higher wages.

I would like to point out Dave Whelan isn’t stupid either and if he believes an agent is after too much money he’ll wave him out of his office.

Signing a free agent is much cheaper than buying a player in contract. The player will more than likely remain on the same wage he was on previously (unless there is a bidding war for his signature) as clubs do their homework and the only difference is the signing on fee which tends to be slightly higher on an out of contract player. You’re still saving a lot of money though depending on the length of the players contract.

I’m sure that we will be paying Garcia rather more than Olympia did. Why else would he leave Honduras for Wigan?

Why else would he leave Honduras for Wigan?

You’ve got to remember the extreme violence, the drug culture, dire poverty and lack of opportunity.

It all makes Honduras look a much better option.

Salford asked: “Who does he play for”

                    Bicky, then you, said “Olimpia”

Please all, do try to keep up
