took my son to his first ever junior latics party this afternoon. absolute brill day. he had his photos taken with sammon, maloney, mc arthur & mc carthy – oh & phoenix. brought back memories for myself as well when i used to attend junior latics (i was one of the founder members i’ll have you know). the first ever player i met back then was colin methven. i was also mascot against burnley in 1983 when graham barrow netted in a 1 – 0 win.
anyone else on here ever been a member of the original juinior latics, &/or been mascot.
I was a member for years, don’t know when I started going but it must have been very late seventies early eighties as I was watching them from the age of 5 (1975). Was never drawn out of the hat to be a mascot, gutted I never got the homour, something that I made sure my kids didn’t miss out on.

i wasn’t aware it started in the late 70’s jay – if it was i stand corrected on being a founder member. i always thought it started in the early 80’s.
I reckon it was late 70s. I must have been one of the original members as well.
I never came out the mascot draw either, all my mates who used to come with me but never actually went to the games all came out though, they still remind me of the fact today.
Remember they used to have a raffle for the old mini transister radios – never won that either.
They had a competition bit like that red or black thats just been on tv – Anyone remember it?
