18 March 2017 at 10:03 pm #157032Really enough saying its manager fault ._..The fault lies directly at the top thats where our problem is
We are owned by people that are stuck with the club and cant sell it and wont push the boat out anymore
Thats why we get likes of caldwell joyce and its not their fault ._.Yes we know they where not good enough the owners knew and took a huge gamble that has made us see the worst season in football i have seen in years
Worst of all not one of the owners have stood up and said anything to the fans about this tragedy of a season
And why they let it get into this sorid stateWhelan out
But who would buy us.
18 March 2017 at 10:08 pm #157034Thats what i said whelan is stuck with the club cant find a buyer._._bit like owning a car we cant sell cause its shyte ;)

we where up for sale in the prem
18 March 2017 at 11:24 pm #157043Tell me why anyone wouldn’t buy us. Stadium runs 12 months a year weddings etc plus whatever we get from the rugby. It as a restaurant unlike alot of stadiums and a football team which will attract crowds in a region of 10000-12000 fans in the championship. All this could be sold if the whelans would include the stadium in the sale.
18 March 2017 at 11:25 pm #157044Was not long ago whelan stated if a suitable buyer came along with good intensions for wigan athletic he would sell the club to them for just 1 quid
Has he did not want to burden his familly with wigan athletic if anything happened to him
Thing is nobody will buy wigan athletic for 1 quid because it would not include the stadium or any training facility
He wants to sell but own the stadium thats the problem what would any buyer be really buying ?19 March 2017 at 12:20 am #157048Bickymon I’ve noticed all your posts are basically anti Whelan slagging off type posts, which begs the question. Why do you hate the man that saved our club, did you used to work for him or is it because he votes tory, I’m curious?

He wants to sell but own the stadium thats the problem what would any buyer be really buying ?With good intentions that tells you he will not sell to anybody . It has to be a great move for the club or he will not sell. Makes a mockery of him not giving a toss and just wanting to fleece the club.
19 March 2017 at 1:14 am #157052Not sure how the rugby finances work, but if they are getting about the same crowds and players pay is much lower due to salary cap then they should be a profitable enterprise and wouldn’t it be best to merge.
That way we ought to appear a much better proposition….
In fact we could even swap a few players19 March 2017 at 1:33 am #157053We would never merge.
A bit like Sunderland and Newcastle merging or Blackpool and Nob End or Rovers and The Dingles.
What a suggestion!!!!!
I would rather merge with the Pigs Feet!!19 March 2017 at 2:01 pm #157064I remember we asked them in the 90’s to help us (pre whelan). They wouldn’t. No way would i merge.
19 March 2017 at 5:16 pm #157086It actually wouldn’t make business sense at all.
You would then be putting two sporting teams at risk if one or other gets into financial difficulties for whatever reason. One will always be a drain on teh other unless you have the hugely unlikely situation of both being massive profit-making concerns.
The usual business strategy – as evinced perfectly by the way DW has run his business – is to compartmentalise, so liability is constrained. We have a separation between us and the ground for example. We may moan about it – but it’s actually a sound business arrangement. If one or other get in trouble then the other is safe.19 March 2017 at 5:33 pm #157087It actually wouldn’t make business sense at all.

No the way to go is spend millions on average players who don’t really want to be here whilst also spending millions more on a fancy building out in the sticks for the kids. Sell the club to somebody for a quid who has no feelings for the club and who wants to sell the stadium for much wonga.
Now that makes more sense doesn’t it.

I would rather merge with the Pigs Feet!!As much as i hate the goons you do realise they play a totally different sport? If any of what you said happened one club would cease to exist.
My mate goes watching the goons and he says pollard been trying to buy the stadium.

I wouldn’t believe too much of what any of their fans say, some of them still think the ground was built for them originally.
They also hate Dave Whelan even though if he hadn’t have bought them out all them years ago they would have been homeless and penny less. Pity the owd git got involved with them if you ask me.
