Wigan Athletic lose a game by what was admittedly an embarrasing scoreline. But i have never seen as many posts on here in a couple of days just because people pop out of their shell just to have a moan, now never mind 9-1, that is also disgraceful. I do criticise Wigan a lot for small things but obviously we had a major disaster on sunday, so the best thing to do is put a line right underneath it, ignore it, pretend like it never happened as we will bounce back. Also the fact that you men are calling for Martinez’ head is shameful in itself, he will get a team together and pull it together (fingers crossed anyway)

Pretend it never happened??? You’ll be telling us to bury our heads in the sand next.

Just ignore the result, dont let it get your head down and don’t let is stop you going to games, they need our support not ridicule (whether you think they deserve it or not). Then again seems like you are one of ‘those’ who only come on and talk when something goes wrong.

No mate, you got me wrong. I can’t wait for Satday, it can’t come quick enough, coz I fully expect a backlash and a good performance. Now it genuinely spoils my weekend when the tics lose, but 9-1 is totally and utterly unacceptable, I wrack my brains for the reason, I am raging inside. It hurts me. But it has been on the cards a while now, we capitulate far to easy, heads drop. Could you see Spurs sticking nine goals past a none league team if they drew them in the cup? Something is clearly not right, how can that same defence from last year concede nine goals, eight in 45 mins? How can Pompey the bottom club stick four past us? Something has to change and pretending it hasn’t happened isn’t gonna help I’m afraid.

But nothing will change if you decide to let it anger you. We know something needs to change, but the change doesn’t happen quicker if you contantly moan about it. You say it has been coming but to be fair, a big win has been coming for some time, it was bound to happen. Ok 9 may be a bit flattering for them but they were going to smash somebody soon. Pretending it hasn’t may not help but it makes it easier for us, then we get through to saturday so the players can redeem themselves (which I really think they will) with a win.

It was bound to happen??? Thats a bit defeatist. We should be going into these games to win and fully competing. But we aint competing are we? Defoe was flying around like bl@@dy Peter Pan while Bramble and co watch flat footed. Martinez says he instills the Springfield Park spirit into his players, well I don’t think the old lady would accept that level of performance.
I agree with you about Saturday tho.

It meant a big win for tottenham was bound to happen just forgot to state what was bound to happen haha (I did say on threads previous to sunday that tottenham would hammer someody soon, also said that it wouldn’t be us though  ) .. Dont really think anybody in any league would accept that level of performance (in regards to playing another team in the same league) , But like a said, why moan, it will just play on your mind, just ignore it until saturday and then we will have something to be happy about!

Cant ignore it any longer, ignored the Hull, Pompey, Arsenal, Man Ure results. If we are ignorant to it it will happen again. We need to let the players know that that level of performance is wholly unacceptable. We are a working class club, with working class fans. To ignore it is against my trade union beliefs.

And pray tell, what do you insist we should do? Boycott the club and don’t go to the games? That would just make the players not want to play for us. What we should do is nothing! keep going to the games, let the lads know we are behind them, maybe doing that will make them see that we are committed and thy will get it together for the fans. But otherwise just let the manager and background staff do their jobs and hope that it gets sorted out. No need for us to do anything, they clearly already know that fans will be disappointed otherwise the refund would not have been given for tickets. You have to take the bad with the good and stick with the club.

Boycot the club??? you talk daft lad. Some shop steward you’d make, there’d be wild cat strikes left right and centre. No firstly you let your feelings be known gently to the management that you’re not happy, like through a fans forum or website if you aint got access to his office, and take it from there.

I wasn’t implying that we should boycott the club… was implying thats the kind of stupid thing you would come out with. What good would gently letting it be known do… I would assume that they already know we are disappointed

I think we should now draw a line under it and concentrate on getting behind the lads on Saturday.

Other clubs have had bad results like this, Everton 6-1 at home to Arsenal this season, City 8-1 at Boro a season or two back, and didn’t Sunderland get a 7 or 8 stuffing last season.

It didn’t do any of them too much harm, they bounced back stronger.

Sh*t happens like this from time to time, get over it, afterall we only dropped 3 points at the end of the day.
