I’m loath to post knee-jerk reaction comments, but as I am going to be busy til later on in the week with work, I probably won’t get the chance. So for better or worse, I’m going to post it now.
Today, what a disappointment. What the hell happened? Why are we doing the exact opposite to what we did late last season, when we played lots of keep ball with up-beat close passing? All we seem to do at the moment is knock long hopeful balls widely into touch.
Some people may say it’s the loss of Moses that is affecting us. Possibly, but such is life. And as for Beausejour? He’s pinching money. Can’t beat his man and his delivery is awful. Needs to be shipped out at the earliest opportunity. Dear god, he’s awful. And Ben Watson. How many more chances is he going to get? He is god damn awful. Ok, so McArthur has a bit of a back inury. But is that all we’ve got in reserve? Watson’s another player who’s delivery is awful. He gives so much possession away, so cheaply. He needs shipping out too.
Now for the defence. Is Ramis really shite, or is he a decent player deep down but just taking time to settle? I can’t decide. Can I ask what’s happened to Alcaraz? Is he injured, or is he still suspended? Whatever, the sooner we get him back in the side, the better.
It’s been a long time since I felt like I did at a match today. I really didn’t enjoy it at all. Once again, we basically gave 3 points away to a relegation rival….and yes, we are going to be down there in the struggle once again. You know why?
Because we are crap. We don’t even make teams work hard for their win. We give daft goals away and end up scrapping for a consolation. I thought we’d got past days like today, but dear god, we were shocking. I expect nothing at Sunderland, and then for Everton to come and beat us easily, if their performance and ours today are anything to go by.
I’m not jumping on the manager’s back, but he got his selection wrong today. The words ‘Ben Watson’ should never feature on our team sheet again.
Where in your analysis is mention of Caldwell? Common sense will tell you that if your captain can’t get it right, the other players confidence takes a hit. He was by far the poorest player with Watson behind, then Jean.

Poorest player, Caldwell? What game were YOU watching?
i’ve come home from that match pretty miffed as well. Martinez defo got his team selection & tactics wrong.
One up front…. against Fulham! we gifted them that game just like last season.
Caldwell was poor but i agree that Watson was the worst player by a mile today. was shocked when i heard his name on the team selection.
It resembled most of last season at times, too much side ways & backward passing with no or little idea up front.
Heyup mate, its too early for you to go on a melt down. Go and have a few pints, have a lie in int morn and chill out the rest of the day.
Writing an essay about today’s game within an hour of the final whistle doesn’t do you any good. We played bad first half, better second half, had chances to get a point, didn’t, so got nowt.
Watson ? If I was to bump into Martinez today just after he picked his starting line up I would have said that…What Son ? Watson played no part in our Houdini act last back end Bob so what are you doing playing him Bob ? He is utter cack or piss poor as I like to say !
Bad performance yes but could have won the game with the amount of chances we had.
The chance that hit the bar at the end of the first half was crucial and if that had gone in i think we would have gone on to win the game.
Not the end of the world to be beaten by our bogie team and to be honest how could any player get fired up against a club that brings three busloads to the cheapest away ground in the league.
i’ve come in really disapointed today, poor performance from the team, thought maloney worked his socks off, what was really disapointing was there was a decent crowd on today, and the floating supporters were leaving twenty minutes from the end because of a poor performance and they may not come back. and it always happens, the club does its best to get people into the ground for a fixture like this and the team puts in a shite performance thought we had turned a corner but its back to square one.
