Newcastle have handed Alan Pardew an 8 year contract, aswell as his coaching staff.
Now i’m all for stability, it seems the best teams are rooted in it. And a long serving manager usually means that the club is consistent, see Ferguson, Wenger, Moyes.
But those managers have been at their clubs for so long because they have done consistently well, it seems that Mike Ashley thinks that it is a scientific certainty that long service equals success, and so has handed the current premier league manager of the year a new 8 year deal, when he had a whopping 4 years left on his contract. In business terms it’s suicide, and I for one will have no sympathy, when in 2 years time the fans are calling for his head, when they’re having their worst run for a decade and are in the relegation places, and Ashley has to decide whether to pay out compen to them all for an unbelievable 6 years!!!
Pardew must be jizzing in his pants, the smug prick, that’s his retirement sorted, no matter what happens, football is officially loonball.
