I noticed a few things:
- Unlike the games that we see at the Brick, there was very little holding & pushing by the players at a corner kick; unlike the debacle that we normally witness.
- Celtic were gifted the game by the Ref & VAR officials. First of all a very soft handball decision as a Hearts player was going to the floor in a tackle and with the goal keeper being favourite to collect the loose ball. Secondly, the Linesman flagged an offside in the build up to the second goal, only to be overruled by the VAR officials The VAR still picture (with a line) clearly showed the Linesman’s call to be a good shout IMO; and the match commentators appeared reluctant to speak out against Celtic.
- So, is VAR a tool that enables “the power that be” to manipulate the game; and is football corrupt ?
16 May 2026 at 6:22 pm #207273Problem with VAR in Scotland Ali is they dont have many cameras so we dont get to see the amount of angles luke we do in the Prem. 30 VAR cameras at every Prem ground so we see a lot more yet they still get it wrong

The handball in the Motherwell game was never a handball in the memory of man.
It wasn’t conclusive enough to give a handball. You can’t give a pen after VAR thinking “It might have touched his hand so pen”.
I keep saying it, it’s bent, rotten to the core. When a season comes down to a decision like that it’s corruption.
Not only that, there was a minute left on the clock and they ended the game. Ok Hearts weren’t going to score two but again rules have to apply.
I wouldn’t be shocked if something controversial happens with Chelsea v Spurs midweek so Spurs stay up.
A club who voted for the big six European League again corruption as the Prem #NEED# the stadium in the Prem
