Totally shocking performance.
Gomez – disgraceful that he even gets paid, appalling.
Kapo – How does he actually have the nerve to call himself a footballer, a total joke
N’Zogbia – a good winger, but he was at left back and played like an attacking left winger, 3 of the goals came from him 4rseing about upfield.
Melchiot – looks tired
Boyce – WTF??? Did his best to help pompey out.
Scotland – Absolute garbage
Sinclair – looked like he had been out on the pop all Friday night.The rest not too bad, however not too good.
I will go on record to make a prediction – Jordi Gomez will prove to be our worst ever signing (including Peron, McMahon, Bidstrup, etc). He must be Martinez’s golfing buddy or something. He is awful.
As for Michael Brown (Surplass to requirements at Wigan and Pompeys captain) a great performance, full of passion. Better then anything in our midfield.
Still, things could always be worse. Hopefully they will get a rocket on the way back and Kapo, Gomez and Scotland will miss the rest of the season.
Without those three we have a good shout against Fulham, come on Bobby, do the right thing and bury these three clowns – please!

Agree with it all. Why did we let Brown go? and why did they put our best attacking player (bar Rodders) in defence? .. Gald someone agrees with Boyce being awful and Scotland too

At one time, we’d have killed for a player like Gomez. I just don’t think Latics as a club suits him. The fans don’t like ‘Fancy-dan’ types.
Mind you, most fans slaughtered a certain Michael Brown and appeared not to go for his ‘workmanlike’ style.
In which case, I don’t have a f**kin clue what Wiganers actually want. Do you actually want ball players or battlers?
Part of me hopes he leaves in January and has success elsewhere. The other part wants him to stay, as he’s technically very gifted.

Just got back from Portsouth and can honestly say it was one of the worst performances I’ve seen for many years. I remember now why I don’t go to many away matches – if the players can’t be bothered turning up then neither will I.
The only game I can remember when on the coach back the voting for “Man of the Match” resulted in most saying “none of them”.
I am however holding on to my ticket absolutely confident that Mr Whelan will give us a refund.
I also believe in the tooth-fairy.

I think it was always probable that Pompey would ‘click’ against us. But nobody would have thought 4-0.
Haven’t seen the game (nor do I bloody want to), so I can’t say a lot.
I have no intention of going to any away games for the rest of the season. Possibly Blackburn, but it’s a Wed night game in January, and let’s be honest, they always do us with a dodgy goal. So I probably won’t bother.
I watched the United game on ESPN, and I have to say that although they won, they were god-awful. Blackburn were absolutely abysmal. I think the overall quality of the Premiership has declined. It’s a very ordinary league now. (Valencia seems to get a mixed response from the fans as well. But he still looks better for them, than us)
I can’t remember the last time I watched ‘Match Of The Day’. It just doesn’t ‘float my boat’ anymore. Same old moaning when big clubs slip up, a la Liverpool yesterday. Same old moaning about refs, debating decisions, etc. Yawn.
Getting tonked 4-0 at Portsmouth is a friggin joke by any standards. January might be interesting.
I also think that if we had our first season squad now, playing as they did then and at the same ages personally, we’d finish somewhere like Fulham did last season. 7th or 8th. Standard in this league has definitely gone downhill.
I have to watch the A League here in Australia. Now that is poor.
That said, we have Foxtel which allows us to watch Premier League matches live via Viewers Choice. As a result I’ve managed to watch the majority of our games this season. Last night we were truly atrocious.
Along with mates over here who support the so called big 4 (and West Ham) I love the way we pass the ball but it is so bloody frustrating how we seem to switch off so readily. At times it looks as if we can’t be arsed.
I await the piss taking on Monday morning…….
Our main problem yesterday was a lack of fight in midfield, Brown and O’Hara (who I thought was excellent) completely bossed it, we were ok when we had the ball, passed it neatly, but we needed a Palacios out there to get stuck in and win the ball and allow us to play. The other main problem was N’Zogbia’s defending, he looked very uncomfortable going towards his own goal and his defending for the 3rd goal was schoolboy-like, I was right behind it at their end of the ground and it was atrocious.
All in all, a bad day at the office.

The only thing he has moaned about is people moaning. Other than that, he has offered his opinions and a lot of them quite interesting, too.
