Got back home at 1.00a.m. this morning. FANTASTIC TRIP Great set of lads in our group felt like I had known them for years we all got on very well although there was a big age gap from people in their 40’s to 60’s Could fill a book with our experiences and another one on about the sleeper train. from Moscow to Kazan. If someone had offered me a free flight.( we did fly back to Moscow) I would still rather have paid to got by this train. What an experience If you know anyone who was in our group? ask them about Doreen Each carriage has a woman in charge and the one in charge of our carriage we called Doreen.
Darren…. what you said about Russian women is SPOT ON I/we ( and every person I have spoke to on the tour said the same thing)have never seen as many beautiful, well dressed women just walking around the city, both in Moscow and Kazan. I’ll ask Brian put a separate section on the site with them all on. There was a couple in the WEP on Thursday but they aren’t very clear.
We manged to get to see Lenin’s tomb as there were no queues, which is unusual so I’m told.. Just looked like a wax work model..Culture, politics and football too – I envy you!
It was a chance of adventure, and you took it. Well done – the opportunity may not come again.

You would be hard pushed to get better than the first hotel.The Best Western Vega hotel in Moscow and we only paid about a third of what they charged to go on the two day Official trip. We had six days including two days in Moscow which the offical trip didn’t visit, they went straight to Kazan. Plus they never got to experience the Moscow Kazan Sleeper train ;)These were the two hotels were we stayed in Moscow and Kazan

Plus they never got to experience the Moscow Kazan Sleeper train ;)Yes, apparently they asked the players if they wanted to go via Moscow and then on the overnight train but they said they’d prefer to fly straight to Kazan with Titan Airways instead and get a decent night’s sleep at their hotel. Spoilsports eh?
