I would suggest Kirkland’s drop in form is more to do with his injury getting worse rather than any change in personnel and it isn’t going to get any better.

i have watched kingston in the few game he played for us and the world cup games and always thought he was a disaster waiting to happen and could never understand why people on here rated him he is not good enough to be a 3rd choice goalkeeper for a premiership club.
on the subject of kirkland – there is no doubt he is suffering from a major drop in form -but look at some of the evidence that has contributed to that – kirkland spent last season behind the worst defence he has ever played behind so his form must have suffered – he was being coached under bruce by a top top keeper in spink and his positional sense seems to have gone since then,but lets face it when any goalkeeper spends most of his time bent down picking the ball out of the net -the biggest factor in his play – confidence – causes more errors than anything else.
