Nigel Atkins what a keeper, was involved in my favourite one liner at Springy park. I remember he cracked his head off the post, cant remember which game, they took him off. Walking round in front of the Heinz enclosure, chap shouts out ‘It’ll be alrite when teh pain goes’
:)

No sign of Kirkland in the squad. His back is playing up apparently

3 December 2010 at 1:33 pm #52398Kirkland didnt play the other night beacuse of his dodgy back again due to the cold!
3 December 2010 at 8:43 pm #52436I was introduced to a guy today at work who said his mate was Mike Pollitt and he said that he was happy to sit on the bench and pick up his wages and that he would rather do that then play these days !! :o
3 December 2010 at 9:50 pm #52438Sounds about right after all he is close to 40 not and he might as well be sat on the bench in the premier league rather than the 1st or 2nd division
4 December 2010 at 2:56 am #52456What are we still doing with Kirkland on our books? What other club relies on a keeper (or any other player) that’s made of glass?
Not even starting his first game for Leicester (and for ages) due to a self inflicted injury (again!) in training says it all. We are wasting money on him.4 December 2010 at 3:08 am #52458What are we still doing with Kirkland on our books? What other club relies on a keeper (or any other player) that’s made of glass?

We are wasting money on him.I think saying it is self-inflicted is a bit harsh.. Think he seems like a nice enough chap and could have been a decent keeper I suppose but I do not want him in our nets as i think he is not good enough!! Hasn’t been for a good while!
