Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Chris Kirkland has given boss Roberto Martinez a major worry ahead of the new season after pulling up in training with a recurrence of his back injury and being forced to miss the clubs training trip to Sweden.
With Richard Kingson and Vladimir Stojkovic both leaving the Latics it puts the club on full alert for quality back up with just veteran Mike Pollitt…
Another bit of bad news for us, We really do need a GK that doesnt get injured that much!
I hadnt seen this when I just posted about my continual keeper worry and then this happens ! Someone somewhere needs to wake up and smell the coffee !! :?
That young lad also got a contract at the end of last season with Kirkland and Martinez both singing his praises.
At 29, I’m not sure he qualifies as much of a young man anymore.
He does in my book.
I’m confused :?
Surely the young lad salfordlatic was referring to was that Lee Nicholls. Now I know you can play outside of the age group for these U21, U19 sides but surely if he’s 29 that would be stretching things a bit too far!!!
