Thing is…we dont have a defence cos theyre all injured and thats before the Cup final….god help us after the final….we’ll be playin Pollitt at full back against Gooners….We got no chance with such a depleted and tired squad…..Enjoy the Final on Saturday come what may and look fwd to bouncing right back up again next year with PJ in charge…..Its only a year out of the prem….be a nice change….

Remember the Carling Cup semi ? we weren’t given a cat in hells chance of qualifying. I made the trip and it was probably the best game I’ve been away with Latics.

Jones could come in to stiffen the defence. Is Golobart close to fitness? And where is Mustoe?
It’s asking a lot, I know, to win at Arsenal, but it’s possible. On the other hand, a heavy defeat could be terminal.
I think you have to play your strongest squad possible in all remaining games.
Personally I think (provided Alcaraz is fit) we should revert to 3 at the back with Alcaraz, scharner, Golobart/Caldwell with Boyce and Espinoza wing back. Espinoza clearly needs defensive cover. I think he performed admirably given his inexperience in the role, but he needs help.
Do you ever watch Championship football? it is such a hard league to get out of, and their would be far from any guarantees of getting back up,hence our summer departures.
