That’s when Hindley wasn’t doing a passable impression of downtown Baghdad. Hardly any shops or businesses still going today at that top end of Hindley. Unless you want a kebab or a pizza
Had many a chat with Maurice Whittle when he managed JJB Sports in Chorley a few years back. Dunno where he is now.
