i never boo poor displays or have ever done, but many who
“support Wigan Athletic. If they are playing at home, go. Simple as” do so ;)
True, and I wasn’t aiming my comment at you, specifically. ;)
Anyway, you can hardly boo if you’re not there, can you?
Me, I always go and never boo – that must make me some kind of Superfan, no? :?

holidays, work and trips to ireland fishing(ive not seen the final games of the season for 15 years) are usually the only thing that prevent me going to games, even though i may not be there i have paid my dues with my season ticket and have done for over 20 years,
so when i chose to stay away on purpose for one game it shows how serious i think the problems with wigan athletic are.12 January 2010 at 1:13 am #17925we are all different

We’re still playing football in the top flight of English football, not that much of a problem to me, leave behind the scenes to the people behind the scenes, and we should just carry on supporting our club. What good is not turning up in protest going to do? Think Whelan cares that one person being childish and not backing his club for a game bothers his big fat wallet? Nope.
12 January 2010 at 1:14 am #17926You’ve not seen the final games for 15 years!! How can anyone who’s obviously watched us climb the leagues chose to miss the opportunity to watch us get promoted to the Premier League, I just find that bizzare. Presumably you’ve watched us all over the country and yet you miss the biggest game in our history….I would have crawled the length of the M6 to make that game.

oh and btw a few things to add if you find my loyalty “bizzare”
i left my wedding reception to watch a fa cup game, along with my wife, father in law, brother in law and best man 28 years ago – i flew back from saudi arabia to watch the freight rover final v brentford, got to gatwick at 11.am and flew back 9 pm the same evening, came back from the middle east to watch the leeds quarter final fa cup game,i also flew home from belfast and got straight on a coach to highbury for the last game ever there, just so i saw EVERY game home and away that first premiership season,
there have been MANY “biggest games in our history“and i have certainly done my fair share of them, and spent vast amounts of money doing so.12 January 2010 at 11:51 am #17951Hiya!
Good to see a balanced report in the Daily Mail of all places. And, agreed, Rob Bagchi’s article in the Guardian had me turning puce in my train carriage, texting a response to post to him as soon as I got home.
Well done to JayT and the CL lot for countering all these myths about Latics’ crowds. But we all know how these things work: that picture of the two mascots on their own in the empty stand will come back to haunt Latics for ever. And no one will ever point out how many Wigan Warroirs get for their Challenge Cup games.
The funniest thing about it was seeing DW picked out in empty seats. PR genius our chairman, eh?

P.S. Great to see you all over xmas, just a pity it was a bit rushed in the end. Never mind, I’m sure we may get a few days in that there London soon. -
