Today in 1978 saw Wigan Athletic play their first ever League Football match after being elected to the Fourth Division the previous season.
It was away at Hereford United and we also earned our first ever point here as well as the game ran out a 0-0 draw.

I was there-
well in fact that is not true,we were on our way and got to birmingham when the car started playing up-we stuggled on and managed to get to worcester before it gave up all-together,we managed to see all the latics supporters coaches on the way home from our vantage point on the back of an AA relay truck.
never been a good place for me hereford -next time we went they were in financial trouble and after a media appeal a big crowd turned up – our coach got there late so we went in the away end by mistake and got a bit of a kicking.
20 August 2010 at 4:59 pm #43350I was there too.
Can I claim my super fan badge, please?

thats a lie for sure
heston is a JCL and only started going in the premiership years
ps. dont tell him i said so -a man who has spoken directly to god and is the leader and mouthpiece of the american gun lobby is a pretty scarey man to have as an enemy.
pps. i hope hes not a fan of martinez as well – all you lot on the darkside will be in for it now. ;)
20 August 2010 at 11:28 pm #43416Can I say unequivocably (and to be honest that’s a hard thing to say) that I was NOT there.
Maybe this could be the start of a new trend. “True admissions of a JCL – well, watching for a good few years but I haven’t been around since 1932.”
I have also never been to Goole Town away, Netherfield at home, although I did once watch Runcorn (green and white stripes) play Ellesmere Port Town (orange shirts and sky-blue shorts) in a game that may have required Gok Kwan’s services.

Can’t tell you. It’s a secret only to be shared with other super fans. Come back when you’ve been following the team for thirty two years ;) -
