Just 12 months ago we enjoyed away day delight at Oldham, Morecambe and Doncaster along with a 3-2 Cup victory over Blackburn
11 months ago saw a great comeback win at Wycombe
It’s just 9 months ago since that fabulous day at Shrewsbury
5 months ago we were winning at Birmingham with just 10 men
Incredibly it’s only 4 months ago when we were winning at Luton and Huddersfield
Just remember back to the feel good factor during that period. Some great away days led by one of the nicest guys you will ever meet
I am still fuming at the grown men and the 16 year old Twitter warriors that insisted on Leam’s sacking. Look what you have done to the club in a matter of months
Talal and Mal need to hang their heads in shame for the massive f@&k up they have made because they shit themselves at the first time Leam had a bad run. It may not have been a pretty season but I am convinced that at the very least Leam would have kept the club up.
I will never say the owners, chairman and CEO should go because I am too grateful for what they have done in the previous year……but my god have they got some amends to make for this clusterf@&k
You “Leam Out” brigade have killed my club and I fear worse is on the horizon
18 January 2023 at 7:29 am #197968We all know now our current owners (and I say that with a wink) didn’t back him in the summer but last season we fell over the line with easily the best squad in L1.
His loyalty to players and form to the start of the season was his undoing.
Prime example of what I mean. When Shinnie came he played players i.e. out of position playing Darikwa as a left back Power as a right back. I lost count how many we lost, It wasn’t working and he persisted. He then reverted it then magically he pulled the rabbit back out the hat at home and we go in at half time losing in a game.
Magennis stunk last season but what did he do ?, He loved Power so which proved to me he had his favourites.
But one for me which speaks volumesHughes
Who the F had heard of him under Richardson????. I’m pretty sure Richardson had but like Aasgaard and a few more stood sweet f**kin no chance as he had his favs.
McGrath asked to play holding mid wtf ?? He’s an attacking midfielder and the very few times Richardson gave him licence to go forward he looked decent but alas he wasn’t in Richardson group of friends he preferred Keane or Power.
I’m sorry but Richardson’s bus had gone and it was time for a change. I was hoping under Kolo we might have a mix up fringe guys getting a go, inject some pace, the odd youth throwing in but right now all’s I can see is a total lack of pace, width, youth. Kolo was a defender and he’s trying to make the Alamo at the back and it ain’t workin so it’s backs to wall till were finally breached and we’ve no ammo to fire back. This window is crucial, he needs to be backed and coin given. Please no more rumours of 18 year old lads, if your gonna go that bring our own through. I’d sooner see our own given experience rather than help the f**kin likes of Chelsea & Co. Stones Cze?. I heard a rumour about McGirk coming back, that won’t help us, a lad who can’t get in Leeds U21.
Rumoured Toffolo and Colback loans would have been 100% perfect. It’s that type we need to get us to the summer still in the Championship
18 January 2023 at 7:48 am #197971“We fell over the line”
We topped the league with 92 points!!!! The season is a marathon and it doesn’t matter when you get the points as long as you get them. The players were dead on their feet the last few months due to the fixture congestion.
My only “criticism” would agree with you in that he underplayed Shinnie when he could of rotated Power and Naylor more
18 January 2023 at 8:36 am #197972We fell over the line, we won it because the League was that poor that everyone was sh1t so when we lost they lost.
Shinnie last season was sh1te. He came to the club with glowing reports from a poor Derby side who should have gone down.
He finished player of the season for Derby (pre admin) and they finished 4th from the bottom 1pt from the drop.
Granted he had a few half decent games for us but not good enough.
Look it’s horses for courses regarding Richardson similar to Cook. I always said LR was an excellent coach but his man management skills left alot to be desired. Were Alex Ferguson or Neil Warnock good coaches ? But the man management skills were second to none. Their job was to get into the mindset of players especially Warnock and turn off that losing mentality button.
Richardson’s downfall was his loyalty to certain senior players. First in the teamsheet no matter how sh1t they played.
Subs?? Say no more those at times beggared believe so you no were Cook got that from. What Richardson did for the club through our darkest days was nothing short of a miracle but alas he loyalty and failure to make changes was hiss undoing.
For me and I’ve said it more than once
Richardson = excellent coach
Richardson = very poor manager18 January 2023 at 9:00 am #197974I keep reading comments that this squad isn’t good enough for the championship. If we are being honest, I reckon every one of us thought the following would hold their own or even excel:
Whatmough
Kerr
Shinnie (not you CW I know)
Thelo
Lang
WykeThat’s not a bad start to build around and use the rest as bench players.
Nyambe was brought in and every one thought he was a good swap for Darikwa
Naylor has actually probably been the best of the lot lately and at least is still busting a gut
If Leam had been allowed to strengthen GK, LB, CM and use the likes of Power and McClean as squad players then I have no doubt he would have gotten the points for us to finish 21st. Finish 21st and then a lot of the contracts end and we could strengthen further.
18 January 2023 at 9:32 am #197975And plenty thought like me that those above would struggle in the Championship. This League is super competitive far more competitive than L1 to the point were been good in League One means for nothing once your in the Championship.
Yes the above players are good players but as Shinnie proved at Derby (1pt from drop) he’s not good enough it’s all about levels
Our owners thought one of two things, bring in an high profile ex-player as manager who will attract players free-cheap-loan as Caulker said “Kolo was the attraction”
Or
Heavily fund Richardson who had no pulling power (cash been king) but considering how much our new owners spent in bailing us out and the monthly loss we create I kinda don’t blame them, were hardly a sleeping giant. The ball is in the hands of Kolo. He needs players on loan battle hardened players who can get us out this current sh1tpit so in the summer he can prove his worth and have a proper window.
We need to integrate some young hungry quick players into the starting 11 (similar to Blackburn try) who can be guided and do the leg work for experienced older player.I will not judge him till Christmas 2024. He needs one good summer window to clear out. I just read were looking at an 18 year old defender from Waford
Kolo, tip:It’s not the time pal, not the time

0 from 9
Guy is clueless
21 January 2023 at 6:25 pm #198020I agree with you Skegs,
Think we would have amassed more points with Liam; certainly not any worse !
I fail to see what KTs game plan is and it’s very reminiscent of the Joyce era.
Wake me up when the nightmare is over.
And if anyone dares to blow smoke up KTs arse, then fine but please explain why he seems to favour Fletcher in the starting line up !!!!!!! I don’t think any Latics fan leaving today’s game would be foolish or brave enough to pick Fletcher. Yes, Liam had his favourites and now its becoming clear who KTs favourites are. Nowt much changed then21 January 2023 at 6:47 pm #198021We have gone backwards at an alarming rate and we are nailed on for relegation I think we have to now look ahead to next season in Division One. The blame lies with the owners who were not prepared to invest in the team in the summer. I think Kolo is way out of his depth and if we are not going to sack him he needs someone with experience to guide and help him. All in all we are in a complete and utter mess , not sure what the intention is with the owners ,are they after a quick sale or have they just got no money ?.If that’s the case just be honest with the supporters.
21 January 2023 at 7:01 pm #198022Agree with you also Mr Phoenix !
8 March 2023 at 12:42 am #198630And so the drivel continues as we plummet back towards League 1.
That is one win in 16 now
Some of you will still never admit it but this team would have stayed up under Leam. It may not have been pretty but he understood the limitations this squad had and his previous record with them showed he could get every last ounce of performance out of them. I have still yet to “get out of my seat with excitement” in any game under the 2 managers since.
Huge error made by the board
8 March 2023 at 12:52 am #198631Work nights….total waste of a holiday and money. Keep giving this goal shy group of dossers benefit of the doubt. After the goal shy, yawn at Blackburn, Preston then Brum tonight capped it. Gutless, idea vacuum performance. Been many years since I’ve felt this disillusioned with our onfield efforts. Blame 100% on the owners for the naivety believing this squad good enough. Losing g and relegation I can swallow but that pathetic effort was I excusable. F%%% k ows how many Burnley will smash us…….
8 March 2023 at 7:20 am #198634They looked dispirited and played that way throughout the game last night.
Not once did I feel they would breach a very very ordinary WBA side who looked two leagues above Latics last night.
6 points adrift and absolutely no chance of staying in this division , another relegation , 5th in 10 years, getting rather p****d off with it now !!
Something is very wrong with this bunch and the sooner the better summer comes and the expected clear out the better.15 April 2023 at 8:20 pm #199326I rest my case. Should never have been sacked, we have what we deserve. Only difference between Maloney and Kolo is he engages with the fans and does a better interview.
Absolute garbage again today against an absolutely shite team.
It’s slow and boring to watch Maloney. Your honeymoon period is well and truly over
15 April 2023 at 9:39 pm #199330Slow and boring to watch. It’s exactly what I expected it would be. Hibs fans warned us but they didn’t need to.
