He obviously enjoyed his last spell in the nick lol!!
6 December 2011 at 11:28 pm #75602He is a disgrace in a long line of players who should not be allowed to play again in this country is Lee Hughes, However i am afraid that we have a centre back who has just served a 3 match suspension for spitting at another opponent and will walk back into the side and people will forget all about it although i would personally put him in the same category. Should be sacked for what he did. No room for that on a football pitch or anywhere. Different crimes i know but should carry the same penalty once the line is crossed on certain acts.

I think your moral compass is a bit skewed, there. I think I’d rather be gobbed at than rogered up the arris before being run over and left for dead.
But maybe that’s just me.

7 December 2011 at 1:01 am #75610Griff you barnpot, You read past the part where i said they are not in the same category.
I will simplify it a touch what i was getting at. Not that you need it or anything ;) but i think that there should be a strict punishment limit on how a footballer acts on or off the pitch. There should be rules set out by the F.A that when a role model such as a footballer get’s convicted of a serious crime(seriousness would have to be up to the F.A) They should be banned from playing semi or professional football for good. The same goes for spitting and in cases like Roy Keane admitting he tried to break Alf Inge Haaland’d leg’s. With footballers getting so much money and being as cocky and arrogant as they are things like this will get more and more common. Paul Merson. Pundit with a history of drink problems get’s done for drink driving again, Why is he not sacked? Barry Bannan, Caught drink driving doing over 100mph on the motorway, Sack him. The list goes on.

Yes, yes, we all get that you personally really don’t like spitting. But I reckon most people ranking all the “offences” you listed above in order of severity would put spitting at the lowest level. I agree, not nice, but context please.
I did read the part where you said they are not in the same category but you also said this:
Different crimes i know but should carry the same penalty
If you are just talking about behaviour on the pitch then Lee Hughes shouldnt even warrant a mention in this thread. I know that the person he left for dead wasn’t run over at Meadow Lane and I presume the alleged sexual assualt on the woman (man?) didn’t take place in the middle of a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy match, did it?

7 December 2011 at 1:37 am #75622Fair enough.
So, what have Barry Bannan, Paul Merson and Lee Hughes got to do with that argument?

I can well believe that. Jesus had long hair.
It’s his birthday soon.

16 December 2011 at 4:14 pm #75979Cattermole arrested for criminal damage. Funny how it is always the same people. Kind of adds a bit of weight to what i was saying.
16 December 2011 at 5:27 pm #75981Because these “alleged” sexual assault stories against footballers more often than not turn out to be true dont they…
