According to reports, cook is interested in bringing in joleon lescott & rickie lambert on free transfers. Despite them being 35, i think both would be decent for league 1 for this season.
Lescott spent the latter part of last season warming his arse on Sunderland’s bench whilst his old mate Moyes picked anyone and everyone to play in defence for us last season. When he did get a run out, he looked hopelessly out of his depth, but then again that was against the likes of Costa, Aguero and Lukaku, not whoever plays up front for Northampton or Walsall.
I’m surprised nobody higher up the footballing pyramid has taken a punt on Ricky Lambert though – he’d be a really good acquisition for anyone below half-way in the Championship, as long as you weren’t paying him Holt-style wages.
I’m don’t think we need them either, Bruce is there fir cover and experience, and if we are playing one central striker then we gave enough options. Looking forward to this aft….
