I like the rest of you feel frustrated that we didn’t get any new and just one old addition on TDD.

However, looking at the window as a whole, we brought in a good young keeper, an attacking, creative midfielder, a good pedigree well bred striker and an old fans favourite “centre half”, who will be able to fill a bit of the big void left by our injured stoppers.

In addition we didn’t lose any of our star players as per the norm in previous windows. OK Mauro went, but that would have pleased 99.9% of you on here. :cheer:

The team therefore IMHO, is perhaps a bit stronger at the end of the window than it was going in. B)

The other good thing is there is no “settling in period” to negotiate that again, has frustrated us in the past. :woohoo:

The season starts here friends, so lets get behind the team and help them on their way to mid table obscurity. goodpost

      From Matlock to ManU
      What a journey!

There is NO WAY on earth that this team will reach mid table obscurity this season!

There is no way on earth that team will win mid table obscurity NEXT season, in the Championship…….

JR, I appreciate your sentiments about the new arrivals, and I agree to be honest. Scharner was well up for it today. If we had 4 or 5 players with similar spirit and heart, we wouldn’t be struggling. I’m glad he’s back. MOM from the home perspective.

But what was the point of keeping Henriquez benched until the 89th minute? Espinoza looked very out of his depth today, as well.

And Beusejour? Nah, I can’t be bothered.

Say what you want about any player but James McCarthy was the worst player on the field today by a country mile, he gave the ball away every time he had it, including both Southampton goals, never made a tackle and gave fouls away every time he tried.
Only fo Al Habsi saving the rebounded clearance from McCarthy, he would have had a third assist to his name.

BTW he also stunk against stoke and sunderland – most over rated player in the whole squad.

Not sure about most over-rated, but certainly had a bad ‘un today

Apart from scharner & perhaps caldwell, they all had a stinker today.
