Martinez totally got his tactics wrong and playing one up front again, its scandalous!!”
Awful defending to let Walcott score the opener and were was Kirkland??
The defending for the Sylvester goal was a joke!!! Jimmy Krankie would score if unchallenged in the box.
Then bobby decides to change it and bring Moses on who is nowhere near ready for the prem. He stumbles over the ball miss hits his cross and it falls for Prince Harry who hits the ball straight at the defender and keeper and it some how finds its way through 4 legs and into the net.
We are then gifted a goal from a Stoikavitch[sp] type blunder and then Charlie who has done nowt all the game, hits a shot that’s going two feet wide only for the wind to blow in from the gap bewtween the East and South stand and the ball hits the post and luckily deflects into the goal.

Hang on, you can’t have it both ways. Same formation and tactics as every other week, just a slight difference in personnel – picked by Martinez. So if he’s a clown when it goes wrong, surely he has to be given credit when it goes right.

hang on a minute griff,i dont want anything both ways as i stated in my first reply i was as happy as anyone in that ground yesterday and credit where credit is due, things went well – but remember the conversations after the game and i expect they were the same in your chosen watering hole as they were in mine, something along the lines of :-
why has watson been put out on loan, when he can produce a display like that, forget about the fact that everyone involved with wigan (except martinez) knows there are goals in the kid.
the last win we had was against burnley and it came from moses getting to the deadball line and getting a cross in just as he did yesterday for watsons goal-so why has it NEVER been tried in the games in between ,or for much of the season as well
rodalega was useless until he went into the center yesterday and then he was awsome dragging the arsenal defenders all over the place and giving nzogbia more room-why,why when every fan who watches us knows he should be up front does martinez continue to play him wide left.
we chased every ball and got at em with more urgency in the second half, why do we usually just sit back/stand off when not in posession or slow it to a snails pace when we have the ball.
will he change the system he played yesterday next week at west ham or return to system he usually employs.
now those are just a few of the questions i heard yesterday and when it comes together like that why does he not try it v a poor portsmouth side,or a fulham side who had played of the 2 biggest ever games in their history either side of our game
every man and his dog is mystified by martinez’s tactics,it worked yesterday(well the system that 99.9% of fans want to see did)and that led me to my statement
we won inspite of martinez not because of him.
now if he started to mix it up a bit and start setting his team up to play like we did in the last 25 minutes or so yesterday i would gladly become a fully paid up member of the spanish revolution.
but alas i dont think i will be ditching my ‘dark side’ cloak just yet.

Some fair points, there.
That said, I’m not sure he did anything different other than have an attacking midefielder in there (Watson) who knew what he was doing. Also, Moses carried more of a direct wing threat than anyone else has done. Other than that, same tactics for me but a team that was prepared to put in a bit more effort than usual and didn’t misplace as many passes as they usually do.
Maybe Arsenal took things too easily after going 2-0 up. Maybe bringing on Moses and switching Rodallega to the middle were the key. Maybe we got lucky with our equaliser. Maybe N’Zogbia got lucky with the winner going in off the post.
Who cares!
Just enjoy the fact that it was a fantastic end to a match which will live forever in the memory of every Latics fan who was fortunate to be there.
