Can one of you geeky experts set up a voty button thing:
Eggs in Vs Eggs out of our stadium.
10 February 2016 at 2:14 pm #147121Took me all of 0.5 seconds to think that through.
Eggs OUT of our stadium for me!
Fuck the EFL

Not exactly going to be an unbiased poll, is it, and with what objective?
89.5% of Cockney Latic subscribers who bothered to enter a poll thought that Wigan Warriors should move out of the DW Stadium.
There. Done it for you. Now what?10 February 2016 at 5:27 pm #147126Well obviously i would vote “get em out”, but could we survive in that stadium on our own with no rent from our tenants.

It isn’t our stadium. We have a lease agreement with the company that owns the stadium. Just like the Rugby.
Whelan went on record to say that he would hand ownership of his stake in the stadium over to Wigan Athletic a few years ago but I don’t think that ever took place.
Any owner of the stadium would want to maximise its usage.
Id be in favour of the Whelan family selling there stake and ending our lease agree. Build a new 10000 Seater stadium somewhere else in the borough and let the rugby have the souless shithole.

You lot are getting soft in your old age. ;)
10 February 2016 at 7:39 pm #147131I say keep them in.
If they moved out who would everyone blame next time the pitch turned into a swamp?

Mutty, you would vote against, and a couple of our “learned” readers would press the wrong button :)

I don’t think there can be any doubt that in this instance the rugby game played last Friday did turn the pitch into a swamp. Had it not gone ahead we wouldn’t be having this debate and the pitch could well have lasted until the scheduled refurbishment this summer.
11 February 2016 at 10:11 am #147145I thought the stadium was owned by a holding company, also owned by DW and this was to protect it from being part of any problems the football team may get into. ie it would not be an asset if we faced bankruptcy. Our paying rent to the holding company is just a business manoeuvre. Essentially DW owns the club and the stadium as separate entities. Whereas the Warriors are paying rent to DW as their landlord …..or I could be talking bollocks much like many others on here.
11 February 2016 at 12:19 pm #147152I vote for HORC as Chairman of the Eggs Out campaign !
Have we anyone to second that ?

It was a mess before kick off and shouldn’t have been played. Whether it would have lasted I’m not sure because it was pretty much dead after the floods.
11 February 2016 at 1:10 pm #147154I’ll second it, Donny could be Vice Chairman. :woohoo:
Fuck the EFL
