The appointment was usual Whelan, The cheap option as we know, But Owen Coyle has fought hard to get this job and get’s my backing. He did one poor job, And that was at a club £250m+ in debt. Let’s see what happens.

Whelan should have gone for Mancini.
And does he really think that a £1 million bonus will be enough as an incentive to win promotion? Even bankers get more than that.
£1 million is more than enough as an incentive, more clubs should be run that way, reward success instead of rewarding mediocrity, players and managers getting obscene amounts of money every week regardless of performance is what will ultimately kill off football as we know it.
And the 1 year rolling contract is just good business sense, whyeave yourself open to a ridiculous pay off if things don’t work out? Look at what Blackburn had to pay berg after 57 days in the job, ,2.7 million pounds, is that what some of our supporters actually recommend for Whelan to do?

Well Salford, DW has stated that the Europa Cup is in no way a priority and also that he doesn’t expect us to go up this season but would like to within 2 seasons ! Who wins the FA Cup and then regards the following season’s competition as defending said cup ? You defend titles in sports but not cups ! I have heard sides classed as current holders but never defending champions !
Just because Whelan says something doesn`t make it right. He said we should hold a minutes silence at all football grounds for Thatcher and to put the cherry on the bakewell he also wrote a letter of support for a man who admitted his guilt in sex offending young children.
Dave sometimes really does need to keep his mouth shut at times or some people might get the wrong idea
Speaking at some length today to a Bolton season ticket holder who declared that we haven’t got a bad manager, nor have we got a great one……his take was that he was a good motivator especially when things were going well but couldn’t manage the ‘bad cop’ routine when required.
Also his view was that he played good football but a fault ( which was evident at Burnley) was that he played too much football in the wrong situations (Deja vu anyone ?). He was also concerned about their fitness, but generally he thought he’d do ok for us but if and when he does get us up, that’s when we may see more of his limitations.
To be honest I’d settle for that !!
