Two years ago Liverpool tried to tempt McCarthy to Anfield only for the youngster to tell them where to go.
It now looks like they’re going to give it another try.

why are they touting isn’t that illegal
It’s hardly illegal, but certainly against FA rules and very hard to prove.
Just wish that they would leave it till seasons finished

One thing you can say about James McCarthy is that he seems to have a very wise head on his shoulders
He was offered a contract at Liverpool & turned it down coz he said it would be better for his development to be playing in the first team at Hamilton every week rather than sitting in the reserves/youth set up at Liverpool playing in meaningless matchs – even if it mean him losing out financially
I’d say as he’s still pretty young that he’d be thinking along the same lines still & if he goes to a club like Liverpool this summer that he’s not yet at that stage where he’d be a first team regular whereas at Latics he will be.
If Latics stay up I think he’ll stay for another season unless one of the mid to lower top half teams comes in for him & its likely that he’d be out of their price range
