With Whelan’s approach to wages, we might see more short-term commitment signings. Listening to whelan (when he announced owen had been appointed) he is not committed to throwing the kitchen sink at the transfer market. Owen has been told he can spend what he gets from sales. That has never happened and would be a first.
The Europa experience will be the autumn getaway – we won’t need an extended squad to see us though to the Spring at that level. Let’s be honest.
That leaves us with replacing the blokes that leave with a blended approach of signings, loanees and young players coming through.

Out of that lot I’d consider Simpson and Fabio, but I doubt they’d consider us.Bramble – as well as he did for us last he played – would be a disaster.
Coyle’s style of play is more akin to Martinez’s than Bruce’s.
