Jonjoe retuned to Everton just illustrates the frailties of Loan signings. In a early season which to many people has been all about bonding we play him as first choice right back to gell with his teammates and then his loan time is up and its skip off back to his chums at Everton. A totally shit way of getting a team gelling together. Next the young Spurs lad comes back but still injured. Well that is really handy that is ffs!

GARY Caldwell could not hide his disappointment after loan defender Jonjoe Kenny was recalled by Everton.

The 18-year-old has been a virtual ever-present this term and, with Kevin McNaughton out injured, it leaves Latics with a problem at right-back.

“I’m a little bit disappointed because, while he was doing well for us, we were also doing well for him and Everton,” admitted Caldwell.

“His career was progressing nicely here as far as I could see.

“He was getting football, he was getting experience, he was playing the right way, and a similar way to they play at Everton.

“We’re disappointed, but with a loan it’s always down to the parent club and they have every right to call him back.

“It’s come as a bit of a shock to us – we thought we’d have him until January at least.

“But he’s gone, we’ll have to deal with it, and I think we’ve got players here that can deal with it.”
