I think he would do the job for us proven Prem goal scorer and allways a handfull. 2.5 to 3 mill should get him. Wot do you think !!!!

Rather him than Mackail-Smith. Nowt against him but Long has been a very god striker for 3 or 4 seasons now in higher leagues. Would be very very happy with Long.

It is a pity we are looking. If Martinez would have used Sinclair to his potential i would be a different story. He for me is the player he has got wrong the most. I think i speak for most people there.

Wonder if PJ will swap us Wickham for Rodallega

Disagree there, only played two Premier League seasons and wasn’t first choice in either, only scored about six goals over the two seasons I’m guessing? (Reading 06-07 & 07-08).

As we’ve seen so many times before, a prolific Championship striker doesn’t always mean a prolific Premier League striker. Like Mackail-Smith, he’s a risk as there’s no proof he’ll make the step up, but sometimes the biggest risks are the ones that do the best, sometimes…

Think he would be excellent for us in the lone striker role. He has a remarkable work rate, runs after everything and has nothing but eye for goal. can be a nice poacher to. He’s done well in his games for the republic of ireland also.

If we bought Craig Short, it would be the Long and the Short of it !

I’d have to disagree there – a bit at least

Bobby used him as a winger despite what he says about our formation being flexible from 4-5-1 to 4-3-3, most of the time its 4-5-1. On the chances he was given there he wasn’t good enough & I doubt he ever will be in that position at this level
As a striker he may well turn out to be a world beater, but never in a million years will he be the type of striker who would be successful as the lone frontman. So in that respect as Bobby seems pretty rigid in how his team will play I think the club was right not to sign him permanently – if Latics played with 2 or 3 up front then possibly I’d agree with you although next season will probably prove one way or the other on that
