Two games, two defeats, one goal scored (a penalty), out of cup! Even Martinez would struggle to find a positive. Long hard season ahead!

All down to Caldwell’s idiot decision to sub Grigg for the inept Davies. Relegation dogfight starts Sunday.

              A positive?

Jacobs No 17. First time I’ve seen him and I thought he looked really good.

15 looks skillful as well. I thought we didn’t play too badly but they need to get some confidence and have a shot rather than pass in the box.

Judgement to be reserved until I’ve seen a couple more games.

Was talking like this the other week and got slaughtered on here. One up front and trying to walk the ball in instead of getting a foot round the ball and having a go.
Leon Clarke looked a good player tonight and surely would have been worth a punt especially over the likes of bury.
tactically naive and we will struggle again without a doubt

                Agree Jacobs looked good.

Apart from that, whilst the personnel have changed beyond recognition, the same problems persist.

Lots of possession but let down by poor final ball and poor defending.

We need 2 upfront. When will the penny drop…

                Manager

I thought Perkins, Jacobs, Flores and Grigg looked good as did young Jennings when he came on.
McNaughton, James and Morgan were okay.
Power looked a bit week, but couldn’t get a touch with the work Perkins, Jacobs and Flores put in. O’Donnell looked a bit shaky at times.
Barnett and Odelusi were diabolical and Craig Davies was the useless lump of shite I expected him to be.
What a stupid substitution by the manager to bring Davies on for Grigg, we went from one up front to none up front and weakened our attacking chances at a stage when he should have been strenghtening it.
Sunday will be tough, but hopefully Barnett, Davies and Odelusi won’t be in the team or on the bench.

Just when a bit of pressure was starting to build for the final 15 mins of the game, we see Davies ready to come on. Good, we think: going two up front and trying to push for a winner. But we pull off one of our better players and dilute our attacking force. Bloody marvellous !

The decision to replace Grigg with the Bolton reject was baffling. Playing at home and really not playing too badly overall considering the players don’t know each other and replacing a striker with a slow and unfit version of Fortune, wow mind blowing. If anything bring the lump on alongside Grigg but oh no, not Gaz instead of going for it this happened.
Perkins worked well, Jacobs looked class, the youngsters played and worked hard but Barnet, Odelousi and Davies very poor. Who actually scouted these Bolton rejects. Did anyone see them first? If they were not wanted by a very poor Bolton side why oh why do we get stuck with them. Question is can they improve. I would think if Bolton didn’t want them then that must be a no.
Two strikers Sunday Gary is a must and try and take this league by storm. who have we got though Grigg and McKay, tuther two aren’t fit.

Couldn’t agree more .GC needs to get a grip and shove this 1 up crap or he will be the 1st league 1 casualty. What a ridiculous substitution, just when we were putting some pressure on and as for Davies I dispair……another useless lump we signed after we finally got rid of the previous goal shy dollop.Jacobs,Perkins and Griggs the positives the later will toil without better supply and some help.No goals in open play a concern and 4 conceded ,better hurry up with this gelling process !!!

The pressure is building after watching that crap at Coventry and now this following on from games last season he needs to turn it around and quick . I’ve seen enough to think give him more time but will the fans, all i’m hearing is bad vibes at the moment and lots of hatred on Sat.

Hatred for what Grumpy? The negative football, Signings, Caldwell. We don’t really hear much vitriol or hatred on here but there are probably only about twenty or thirty or so regulars which is a lot short of the 2k that went to Cov.

I thought we played pretty well in parts. Certainly in the first half we were the dominant side but our shots either went wide or the cross was to nobody.

Once we got the goal it looked like we’d get another but then they equalised and we fell apart. I’m not sure what Morgan was doing for the penalty but it looked straight out of the Gary Caldwell book of defending.

There were certainly some positives to take from the game but I thought we were a little shot shy again which will no doubt be our undoing.
