Sorry if I dont double read your posts Brownbill but to say they are tedious would be an understatement.
Okay answer me this then Tylders + Brownbill.
If we are saying for example Al Habsi Boyce Caldwell McCarthy McCarthur and Di Santo werent shit V Liverpool and dont deserve a place like many have on here and that Mcmanaman, Fyvie, Golobart, Robles & Dicko shouldnt play in the cup because they are not considered 1st team what team does that leave us with?
You either want one or the other and after the Liverpool performance the likes of Mcmanaman, Golobart and Robles will be a welcome addition in the cup for me and have earnt their place in the team and should be knocking on the PL door as well.
In fact I put the ball in your court.
What team would you play? Stick them on then when they play shit we can have a dig at your managerial capabilities shall we?
And another thing Brownbob just because I dont come on here screaming to the rooftops that Martinez is shit does not mean I agree with everything he does especially not this season.
Im just not a moaning twat like you, feel the need to bust a nut on here and dont let the negatives cloud the positives and that does work vice versa
After the poor performance last Saturday, it’s going to be difficult to reach an agreement on exactly what is our best side at the moment.
I don’t think Martinez should play the same team that played Liverpool. I think that a change will do the team and the squad good. I think the midfield needs a rest – and I’m surprised that Jones has been allowed to leave.
I might go for something like this;
Al Habsi
Scharner Alcaraz Golobart
Stam McArthur Espinoza Figueroa
McManaman Kone Gomez
Stam and McManaman may not be good enough defensively to deal with Baines and Pienaar – I’ll have to think about it! McArthur would challenge Fellaini in midfield.
I don’t know whether to put young players or first teamers on the bench. Let’s go for; Robles Lopez Boyce Beausejour Henriquez Dicko Di Santo
Most first teamers would come back for the next league game against Newcastle. However, there may be some squad players who deserve to keep their place.
IF (big if) bobby picks a near “full strenght” starting 11, i will be fookin fuming and gutted at the same time for the lads who don’t get opportunities to show us whether they have what it takes….they’ve got us to this position, LET THEM CARRY ON…..
So then, IF we put the usual full strenght team out and get beat…..what would you lot on here say then eh?????? BLOODY RUBBISH MARTINEZ, HE SHOULD HAVE PLAYED THE “CUP TEAM” FFS
1) So you were fuming & gutted when Jewell changed his carling cup selection & put out a full strength side against Arsenal in the semi-finals back in 2005/2006? I doubt it
2) If a full strength side were to lose to Everton on Saturday I would just chalk it off as getting beat by a better side but would know Latics had given it their best shot. If a “weakened” side loses I’ll be miffed that the manager wrote the game off befroe a ball was kicked
3) If a “weakened” side wins. I’ll be on here praising the tactical genuis that is roberto Martinez!!! ;)
The team that started Saturday is probably the strongest we have with the exception of Alcaraz albeit they didn’t do themselves justice .As I believe the gulf in quality between our best 11 and the understudies in quality terms is large then that is probably the best we can serve up Saturday.I do feel maybe Al Habsi and possibly Boyce could be swapped. If excelling in these cup ties improves your chance of a Prem start then after Huddersfield McManaman must surely be knocking on the door. But wholesale changes will achieve jack all and prove even less.

i can’t speak for brownbill or anyone else, but I’m not saying that all of that list of “$h!t players against Liverpool” should be dropped, What I would argue is that players who have been consistantly under-performing over a period of time should be dropped. I also think i argued on here (might have been another website) that for me the problem with Saturday’s game was that everybody had an off day. Everyone can have an off day but it’s those who put in consistant off days who should be replaced – for me the Saturday performances of the likes of McCarthy, McArthur, Di Santo & Boyce can be put down to off days. Same of Caldwell if I’m honest
Al Habsi has consistantly under-performed & needs dropping IMO
So in all honesty my starting XI for Saturday wouldn’t be a whole lot different that the one which started against Liverpool – other people might disagree with me, some might agree with me. I’d certainly prefer McCarthy & McArthur in the middle against Everton than Espinoza & Fyvie.
I never said I agreed with anyone saying drop X, Y & Z after Saturday’s game – you seem to be lumping everyone who doesn’t agree with you into the same pot
What I don’t agree with & never will is managers picking weakened sides. That’s why I didn;t go to a single game in teh Carling Cup run until the semi-final when Jewell had stated it would be a full strength side. If a manager doesn;t treat it as a priority then why should I treat it as a priority when it comes to deciding what I spend my cash on

Yada Yada Yada as per usual Tylders.
You tell me I’m missing what everyone else is saying then brush over what I am saying.
Name yer fecking team and then lets see how the ones who play perform on the day.
Personally for me I think if he put the same team out against Everton as he did Saturday they will once again get bummed by upper Premier League oposition ( Yes Brownbob upper! – not the shit team you think Liverpool are)
if martinez picks a full strength team….we may aswell tell the “cup team/2nd string”…..don’t bother turning up to our club lads, as you wont be getting a game in ANY COMPETITIVE GAMES WHILST YOUR WITH OUR CLUB…….so much for looking after the future of our club eh!!!!!
unbelievable some people on here…..THEY HAVE GOT US TO THE 1/4 FINALS….THEY SHALL PLAY IN THE 1/4 FINALS END OF STORY!
You’re both posting your usual retarded dog s**t………And manc man I think the team we played against Bournemouth,or Huddersfield will leave you squirming in your adult pampers !!!
i’d rather watch a player (who doesn’t get many chances) who will try ALL 90+MINS in a game, knowing that that is his time to prove himself in a competitive game…….than some 1st team regular on 30k a week strutting round, not giving a f**K
CUP TEAM ALL DAY FOR ME….anyone that says “forget the lads that have got us this far and pick the 1st team, now that we’re so close to wembley”….is everything that is wrong with modern football (and please spare me the bore of telling me when you starting watching wafc in the 60’s, whilst we were still in nappies etc)zzzzzzzzz
the confidence in the “cup side” will be a lot higher (currently) than our so called 1st team……

Yer shit house.
You havent a clue have you.
Bemoan everything Martinez does but have no alternative suggestions yourself.
Enjoy your Darksider of the month award you have now met the required criteria.
can’t wait to see the reaction in the lower bullens on saturday when the team is announced, i shall have a camera ready, just in case any of you lot start giving martinez stick about HAVING FAITH in our 2nd string
everyone deserves a chance, they have done well so far, long may it continue……anyone who delusively feels the need to ditch the lads that have got us this far, are not true wigan atheltic supporters
GIVE THEM A FOOKING BREAK AND LET THEM PLAY THEIR GAME FFS
Hasn’t almost everyone over the last few days been giving the “first team” stick over their non-performance on Saturday?
But now you want them to play again, in place of an alternative group of players who may be up for the fight?
AT LAST someone on mine and salfords wave length…..they got us this far, let them carry on…..will only make the club stronger in the long run as it will give all the other “non 1st teamers” hope that they will be rewarded for their efforts
cant believe some people on here want to replace the lads with that shower that played on sat’day….. :silly: :silly:
