The goons who make a living in the media seem to a man out to influence the dollopers who run the premier league. For what its worth I thought it was simply wreckless but the lad didn’t intend the player any harm.I hope i’m wrong but I do fear they will succumb to media pressure and clobber him .Still 2 seasons down the line and the Rooney incident sticks in my throat as it shows all what is wrong with this retrospective crap !!!
the day a player in callum’s position (going to win the ball) back’s out of a tackle or jumps out the way, is the day football dies as a contact sport……………..sky and media blowing it out of proportion to keep up interest in their stories
i’d have done exactly the same as callum in that position, if he went in half hearted, he’d have come off worse than haidara did……he’s not even broke anything FFS…..wish the media would shut up
At last – something to unite all our fans behind our club.
What’s laughable (well, one of many things that’s laughable) is in comments for example on Daily Mail’s site that “I always liked Wigan but now I want them to go down”.
I haven’t seen anyone liking us since we got promoted. “Low crowds blah blah. Don’t deserve a Premier team blah blah. Rugby town blah blah.”
We are Wigan. Little Wigan. No-one likes us. We don’t care…..
Will give a lot of TV watchers a problem of who to favour in the semi.
couldn’t care less what some modern day sky sports whopper thinks about anything to do with our towns club……these plastic armchair mugs (usually have 3 teams they follow!!!!!!) think that football was invented 20 years ago (birth of prem), in fact, most weren’t even born then.
the modern day football fan is atrocious, leave them to it, they change their teams allegiances like they’re deciding who to vote for on the x-factor…they’ll “support” either the team that wins trophies or whoever their pink t-shirt, sunbed tossing, floppy haired, saggy jeans round the arse mates from band camp “support”
best one from philk newcastle fan on wiganer.net
we are so outraged dont bother cuming to the north east next year
promise you have it waiting for you
nice and safe sat behind his keyboard ,but they could yet go down here’s hoping
Having given up my season ticket seat to my daughter, I sat just yards from THAT tackle and from my angle clapped what I thought was a great challenge, the ball changed direction and Callum was up and away to close down the next attack albeit handball. However, even seeing it when i got in still reckon Callum (exuberance excused)had eyes only for the ball. The media really pi$$ me off, coming back home all talk sh**e could do was drag up a couple of second class hacks from the mirror and the people, one who said ‘I really hope Wigan go down this year, they have never brought anything to the Premier’ adding ‘glad they have reached the cup semi final, maybe they’ll take their eye off the ball and finally go down’.
Bring them all on, I say. Pat Nevin hit the nail on the head saying we are a club that have ‘not forgotten where thy’ve come from’. Perhaps the media should heed that.

i always listen to pat Nevin’s comments. he talks with the old school style and sense. On MOTD2 he was spot on as usual, And even went as far as stciking up for us whilst everyone else stuck the book in.

I thought this topic was about coronation street hard man Eddie Lynch’s new ‘firm’ who would instil fear in all but the hardest of Danny Dyer whopper types. Imagine my disappointment when I see its not. Made me look quite the fool. A fools fool if you will.
