Amazing to think Don Cowie has the 3rd highest appearances for us this season and yet you look at some of those we’ve let go. No wonder we are where we are.

A lot of Cowie’s appearances have been as sub recently.
If you consider minutes played then Cowie is behind Perch, Carson, Taylor, McClean and is almost level with Fortune.
He was almost an everpresent under Rolser, but most appearances have been as sub under Mackay.

        Here’s a question for you….
Taking into account all games where a player has played 45 mins+ who has the best and worst points per game ratio for Latics this season?

OK, I’ll put it this way.

            The Best
With Riera in the team we averaged 1.5 league points per game
He is followed my some of the new recruits, such as Pearce, Maguire, Bong & Pennant due to our recent improvement in results.

Of the players who played consistenly under Rosler and Mackay, Fortune comes out best.
With him in the team we’ve averaged 1.04 pts per game. Without him in the team we’ve only averaged 0.69 pts per game.

            The Worst
Maloney and McCann. When they played 45 mins or more we only averaged 0.42 per game.

Going off those stats then maybe Fortuné and Riera should have started on a regular basis! The manager knows best though eh!

A story that involved the failed striker, a banjo and a cows arse! :)

You’ll get put away talkin to thi’sel lad

On another note only £130 to have a meal with Uncle Dave and hear his inane ramblings, going over the last 20 years.
In fairness would have been a good night for the average supporter, instead it will be attended by businessmen and those full of money. Most of whom wont haven’t been to a fraction of games in 20 years compared to the loyal working class fans, who spent their hard earned on their team.

Dave’s not in it for the money though.

I suspect they priced it like that for two reasons:-

                    1) Supply and demand – they have already sold out 17 of the 30 tables and that is BEFORE they have tapped the sponsors/corporates

                    2) It deters absolute knobheads from turning up

It has certainly deterred me. Read into that what you will! ;)
