25 January 2015 at 2:43 pm #138646These things usually start out as “I wouldn’t be surprised if he was gone by tomorrow”, which leads to someone else overhearing and telling their mates “He’ll be gone by tomorrow”, which in the Chinese Whisper trail becomes “I’ve heard he’s going tomorrow, Jonathan Jackson’s going to tell him”, to “Mackay’s been called in to Jackson’s office” and so on……
jackson has an office?? I would have thought he has a chair in a corridor. Chair gets used on match days though, so any interviews etc need to be done over a garlic bread (cheapest starter) in rigolettos. No drinks mind.
25 January 2015 at 3:11 pm #138647Has a new manager ever had a worse run of results especially at home. ?
There will be one somewhere if we look hard enough….
August since we won a game at home.
AUGUST FFS….
With only free-scoring Bournemouth to host, what are the chances of the fat cuckoo egg-chasers recording back-back wins in-between Latics winning at home?
Pretty good I reckon

25 January 2015 at 3:50 pm #138651It’s not true and that’s the wind up bit. Jeesh you remember me writing in a football column all those years ago you sad git. Perhaps that was a wind up from one of your mates, cos the column was in the WEP.

Yep, and a printer. So he can print off copies of clever emails and posts and run along to show them to his boss. No, hang on… only real morons would do that
25 January 2015 at 9:07 pm #138670Have some pride and resign, it’s clear that the players don’t wanna play for you !I’m not so sure that is the case. We just seem to have a group of poor players bought by previous managers. This lot quite clearly didn’t want to play for Rosler, and most thought it was his fault. So we sack Malkay and get another manager, who says it will be any different? That said, think Whelan has made two very poor choices with two out of the last three managers we’ve had.
25 January 2015 at 9:18 pm #138671Well im going for the players are rock bottom and very low on confidence and getting punished at the moment for every mistake

On another note I’ve got a budgie for sale, tweet me if you’re interested. It wasn’t just you – there were a whole host of morons spouting the same shite all over Twitter and Facebook last night.
26 January 2015 at 1:48 pm #138694Sacking the manager won’t achieve anything……
Sacking all the backroom staff along with 6-8 players then we might stand 1/2 a chance

I may well be that Whelan is keeping his options open regarding Mackay pending one, the result of the FA charge and two, his performance as manager.
On that basis there is no point sacking the backroom staff if there is a possibility the club may appoint another manager before very long.26 January 2015 at 4:51 pm #138707Looks like here’s here to stay if all reports are correct;-

When I say backroom staff, something isn’t right at the club. Too many are here with history just like the Cup winning side which has all bar gone and a fresh start for all is overly due.
You don’t often see all the backroom staff remain in place at a club when a new manager takes over and after 2 managers ? I cant say I know of many. We need wholesale changes at the club players and staff alike. People mention Jewell, not for me. He was brilliant for club and keep it that way , , , , was

That’s just Whelan being tight (copyright, Bickymon) so he doesn’t have to pay out any redundancy/compensation payments.
26 January 2015 at 5:34 pm #138714Malky out…? and get who ? 1 week left in the window for a new manager to look at squad and then start re building.Forget it .If it’s true that the FA will clear Malky this week then that is a cloud lifted from him .What is he supposed to do with this bunch of under performers ?He’s losing the ones who don’t want to dig in and trying to get battlers for the run in.It’s up to the powers above to back him and give him the funds coming in to try avoid the drop.
26 January 2015 at 11:01 pm #138741too late for that and to be honest its too late to save ourselves now ,it’s league one for us and I’m sorry I cannot see anything else. The team is not got enough to survive in this division it’s as simple as that.
Let him clear it all out ,no point making anymore SH/t signings and get some of the youngsters thrown in NOW in readiness for steadying this very very rocky ship next season.
Sorry to be so negative but is anyone feeling any different at the moment? -
