Why is Richardson playing him??. Can’t score, wins nothing, can’t jump, slow I’m sorry but Richardson has got this one wrong.
Just holding the ball up would suffice but he can’t even do that. He needs to be dropped put Lang or Humphrys there at least they’ll put themselves about and win something but Magennis is one of the worse signings we’ve made, ever.
27 February 2022 at 11:07 am #195549I really hope he isnt the 2022 version of Will Grigg’s move to Sunderland.
27 February 2022 at 11:24 am #195551Well I haven’t seen anything remotely to suggest he will suddenly change and become a handful or a threat. Its like playing with 10 men.
Lang would create more problems in that roll far more problems. I can only think of 2 occasions were he won the ball and one of those was a foul on him.
When Shinnie came he went straight into the side and was sh1t we didn’t win in 4. This fokin hoof it to the big lad doesn’t work especially when your big lad is useless the ball just keeps coming back.
He needs to be dropped and throw Lang up there because if we play like that again we won’t make play offs27 February 2022 at 11:24 am #195552Not really ,we did not pay £4 million for him. You would think he would be a great replacement for Charlie Whyke but at the moment he is totally ineffective and anonymous .I just hope Leam does not stubbornly keep playing him. We don’t look dangerous with him in the side ,I think the best option is to keep him on the bench and give Humphries a run of games.
27 February 2022 at 12:09 pm #195553Sometimes a player just doesn’t fit into a team,
it happens to a lot of clubs, we are coming into the last furlong of the race,
we have to WIN games, as the chasing pack are catching us up.28 February 2022 at 7:42 am #195563I don’t think Shinnie in particular was crap. It’s hard to come into a side that has settled & is winning games. The same problem with Magennis. However I haven’t really been impressed so far in what I’ve seen of him.
Go back to the 3 centre back formation & get humphrys playing up front with lang with Keane behind. Power & Shinnie (or Rea) in midfield with Naylor behind in a holding role.
28 February 2022 at 8:29 am #195564Shinnie passed backwards or sideways and taking the ball off him was like taking candy off a baby.
The January window was one of the worse I’ve seen and what was even worse than poor additions is
They were signed on 2 year plus contracts !!
Magennis = no good needs to be droppedShinnie = backwards sideways passing. Had to move Power and Darikwa to shoe horn him in.
Rea = sub at the best, won’t come on and change a game
McGrath = gone AWOL, so called attacking mid in the mould of Keane. When Richardson was recently asked about his disappearance he avoided the question 3 times.
4 poor signings at a time when we needed to strengthen

28 February 2022 at 8:54 am #195566I’m glad more fans are calling out Richardson, for weeks the team selections and tactics have been dreadful even though we have been getting the wins/points, the Sunderland game was a car crash waiting to happen, come on Leam don’t let all the hard work slip away now at the business end of the season.
If certain players aren’t pulling their weight then they should be dropped, I appreciate what LR has done for the club the guy has been magnificent, get the stubborn head off Leam and get us back to playing decent football and play players in their correct positions starting against Fleetwood.
Humphrys should start against Fleetwood, we need a convincing win after the Sunderland game.
Fuck the EFL
28 February 2022 at 8:51 pm #195579Most definitely have to agree. Shinnie played 4 games before LR realised Darikwa cannot play Left Back. Was Shinnie worthy of a team re-gig to get him on the pitch ?.
No,
Yes he was player of the year for Derby but let’s not forget, Derby finished 4th bottom 1 point off the drop and by unscrupulous methods.Let’s just draw a comparison with say Humphrys. No one can doubt Humphrys hunger and workrate a desire to do well. He works his sack of and most Latics fans would say its only a matter of time.
But with Magennis there are no similarities what so ever. No Latics fans would say he’s unlucky or works his nuts off you just see a player with a sell by date we’ll over its date.
I’m sure he use to be a decent player but not now.
The only person who thinks he is good enough is LR. After the Wycombe game he said to the press that Magennis had an excellent game.
His blinkers are on and his loyalty cap firmly in place. I’d sooner see Humphrys start and Sze come on with 15 20 to go.1 March 2022 at 5:10 pm #195582I’d just like to say a few hours before the Fleetwood game that I’m not on a Magennis head hunting mission and I pray to God that I’m on here about 10:30pm tonight singing his praises saying “What a goal by Magennis !!”.
I want every Latics player to do well but sometimes managers can’t see the woods for the tree’s and their loyalty to a player can hinder a teams performance.
Latics 2-1 win but as per usual we’ll go a goal behind2 March 2022 at 7:42 am #195590Hit and miss last night for me , we looked nervous and very leggy.
Little flashes of the form we show away from home but far too
Much giving the ball away and lucky they had zero threat up front all night.
As for McLeans stupid sending off at the end with that other clown , so stupid and pointless.
He is an important player and a great footballer on his day but the indiscipline needs addressing by the management in my opinion.2 March 2022 at 8:35 am #195593A workman like performance, it was all about the 3pts nothing else. Wtf was McClean doing ??, the bellends now out for 3 games.
Lang def looked leggy and Keane struggled to get a foot hold but when all said and done, a wins a win end of2 March 2022 at 10:35 am #195595A few on other sites said Shinniw MOTM last night. Has your opinion changed cupwinners? I thought he showed a lot of coolness, calmness & composure on the ball & looked for passes instead of us hoofing it all the time.
As for Magennis, I thought he looked a lot sharper when he came on & up for it. But I’d definitely start Humphreys on Saturday.
2 March 2022 at 12:29 pm #195598There were signs last night from Shinnie that he is starting to be the player we all thought we had signed. A few dodgy moments but a big improvement from previous displays. I thought we looked a lot sharper with Humphries starting, Magennis looked better when he came on as sub and maybe that’s where he can be more effective ,coming on off the bench.
