So I’ve just read Maloney’s article regarding Stones saying it’s up to him.
Basically for me Maloney’s been a f*ckin bellend for the way he’s treating him.He says if he fights for his place he’ll get the minutes
Will he f*CK Maloney your a liar he won’t.
He left him out Saturdays line up when we only had one striker so what chance has he when he plays one forward and he brings in another loanee Dale Taylor Stones has no chance.Stones could potentially be a decent striker with age & experience. He has one year left so if he decides to stay and not play his next contact 25-26 season will be a difficult one to sort due to not been in the shop window.
If he goes to Oldham and starts banging them in then that next deal could be very lucrative plus he gets minutes and experience.
I did read somewhere he struggles with his fitness but that can be worked on but he needs minutes so

Cant disagree with any of that. Maloney is proving to be a poor manager and nothing that anyone says will change my mind. He cannot manage 90 mins of football pissing about constantly with team selection formation and tactics. Instead of mollycoddling these young lads let them of the leash and see what happens. He will go to Brum saturday like he did at Reading with only one thing on mind hold on to a 0-0 draw. Once the first one goes in he will be totally lost and be staring at the ipad for the rest of the game with his coaches.

Stones is contracted till 2026 not 2025 so for me makes it worse for the lad, now he’s in limbo but if I were him I’d:-
Go on loan,
Bang a few in,
Move onto a club who wants me,
Or
Sign a short term loan contract till Jan 2025 then come back when Maloney’s gone
