Went last season and we was unlucky not to equalize. They have strengthened again (if thats possible with the team they already had). Looking @ the odds, no one gives us a prayer. I beg to differ, i don’t think we will win the game but a draw is not out of the question. Swansea matched them for the 1st half hour and then just went to bed.
We are better than swansea and usually do well against moss city. Fancy a 1-1 draw, don’t forget cit eh have the champs league to think about. So they may rest players (aguero, dzeko, silva, tevez on bench etc). That leaves the same team as last season more or less. !!!!!!
COME ON LATICS
9 September 2011 at 1:30 pm #71166Dream on!
I’ve got tickets for the Everton game, where i think we can get a result. Tomorrow, i’m going to make sure i’m busy doing something away from the pub/TV/radio as I fear the outcome.Having watched the 2 city games on sky, they look awesome and I have seen enough defensive lapses from our boys this season to be very worried. The difference is City will take their chances and they will create even more. We need to stop Silva from getting any space or it has the makings of a Spurs game.
Our only slim chance is that they play their second string and keep their bigger guns fresh for Europe.
You may think I’m a pessimist, I’m not but the bigger teams seem to have stepped up this year and are going to hurt all the smaller teams (not just Latics).
Fingers crossed though, you never know. I remember walking to the DW for a game againts Liverpool, feeling utterly depressed and expecting a spanking, and we won!

The good and the bad of being a football fan.

Expecting to lose is one thing (I think we probably will too) but expecting to lose 9-1 is fairly pessimistic, I’d say.9 September 2011 at 9:08 pm #71180Well I’m going to have a punt at 1-1 with them being a little sloppy (through arrogance) and us snatching a surprise leveler on the break.

Mind, it could have easily been 6+ (penalty, Richards – bar and Lescott) but I’m not down hearted as expect that there will be many a team that face city (and united) who will suffer a spanking.
Roll on everton!
