3. The attendance was 12 thousand and something and if this means it’s dying then all sports but soccer are doomed.
Hmm,
Golf NO
Rugby Union SIMILAR
Cricket NO
Speedway NO
Boxing NO
Wrestling NO
Basketball NOT IN THIS COUNTRY
American Football NOT IN THIS COUNTRYAll get bigger attendances, off the top of my head, I am sure there are plenty more.. I’ll just check Chess and tiddly winks MAYBE :)
14 September 2010 at 10:00 pm #46376That’s what it says on their web site, unless you were there and you know different. I’ts just that I believe everything I read. :?The attendance was less than 10,000 and my die hard rugby mate said he was totally embaressed with that turn out. He actually said it looked more like 8, 500 from were he was sitting. You see I’ve had over 30 years of pish taking from the chubbies fans I know, about our poor crowds and now the shoes ont tuther foot I’m wollowing in this piemon.
Friday’s game is not a non entity game for two teams only, Wigan Worriors and Hull KR. Ask anyone living outside the M62 corridor about fridays’ game and they will be blanker than the majority of seats were at the DW Sunday neet.
As for us being in the championship, yeah, yeah, yeah we know we are going to be relegated every year for the past 5 years. That’s what everybody keeps telling us even the professional pundits. Everyone knows that crowds come and go with success, just ask the Geordies and Leeds fans. However, I can’t understand the fact that you finished top of the league, played another top four club and last years champions but still only got 9000 on. It seems to me that the good old rugby people of wigan are only interested in their team when they play the mighty saints. Unless of course the might saints make up over half the crowd when the chubbies play them at the DW. ;)
You’re shower of shyte have had your day back in the 80’s lets now have ours please.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!14 September 2010 at 10:21 pm #46381You dont happen to sit in the Boston Stand, just across the walkway from where the “Mudhuts” flag resides on matchdays do you?

You didn’t specify a country and ALL those sports have had higher crowds, though I admit I haven’t reasearched it.14 September 2010 at 10:35 pm #46385You dont happen to sit in the Boston Stand, just across the walkway from where the “Mudhuts” flag resides on matchdays do you?Me? no I sit with allt tuther owd uns int West. I was the one waving the tesco bag at Brucie and then Cattermole when he got sent off.
Had large photos of cattermole and bramble’s head popping out the bag in recognition of bent noses reference to his shopping habbits. Both him and black couldn’t see the funny side, but everyone on the mackems bench and surrounding seats did. :lol:From Matlock to ManU

These chubbies are biting the neet :D
15 September 2010 at 3:21 am #46419Have you noticed that whenever the Worriers have a disapointing attendance it always accidentaly ommited from the match Stats in the W.E.P. !!!!!!!
However, if they play Saint Widnes Doodahs or Yorkshire City Dinosauar Yellow Socks on a decent Bank Holliday Monday afternoon which attracts a decent crowd of pensioners on a trip down memory lane the back page write up would start “IN FRONT OF A CROWD OF NEARLY TWENTY THOUSAND ETC. ETC.” And the stat count would be fully highlighted in bold type including Tries, kicks, Up and Overs, knock Offs, all under the all important ATTENDANCE !
Now before you start Rugger fans Ive no gripe with either the W.E.P. or Wigan Cherry and Beige Walruss Wanderers, it is just an observation.
15 September 2010 at 11:49 am #46429Egg chasing is a pointless pastime, doomed to minority status because of its M62 corridor of teams. wait till the next part of the recession hits and you will see crowds drop even further.
If they want to be compared to the might tics, they are at the top of their pastime (I cant even bring myself to call it a sport), still draw lower crowds than the tics who are struggling near the bottom of the league.
If it wasn’t for SKY’s support of minority pastimes, it would have gone bust a long time ago.
