Just for a bit of interest who would you prefer to top the Prem at the end of the season ? I’ll start by hoping City because I don’t think I could stand seeing chianti nose smirking all over the media again !
I’d prefer Latics to top the table.
If they don’t (and it’s becoming increasingly likely that they won’t do it this season) then I really don’t care.

United – being born & raised a red means old habits die hard. As blue & white as I have been for the last 20 odd years, if Latics can’t win a competition then the only other team I would like to see win it are United.
Besides which I think many Latcis fans who experienced City at first hand when they were down in the 3rd div with us for that season realises what a bunch of absolute c***s they really are

I’m same as you Tyldsley I’ll never look back and was prety young when I changed.
But its not only my sweet spot for Man U that makes we want them to win it.
I hate City , without a doubt the worst fans going.
When we drew them in the carling cup the amount of shit I got for weeks in school drove me insane!
That all went away with a bit of Neil Roberts magic.

As for them crawling out of the woodwork – back when they were in the 3rd div (98/99 was it?) I used to work in Salford Quays & there were a good few City fans working there. Most of em were arrogant, gobby gits but the odd one was okay.
Anyway, one day one of the okay ones went out in his lunch break to salford crescent to try & but the new city shirt from a sports shop. He couldn’t find one & so asked the owner. The response he got was:
“You’re f****n joking aren’t you. This is Salford. You’re in the wrong city if you wanna buy that S**t”It kept me amused for the rest of the day anyway!!
Aside from their fans Joe Royle & his assistant were absolute a**es that season too. Comments like “we expect to be beating teams like Wigan” have always stuck in my mind
And don’t get me started on Goater & both of those play off games – should have had a penalty in the home game when Weikens handled right in front of the linesman. Should have had a penalty in the 2nd leg when Weikens booted Kevin Sharp about 6 foot in the air when the ball had long gone past him & the “handball” – a mate of mine works at City & helped out Goater with his charity. Still won’t say if it came off his arm which to me indicates it did. barsteward!!
Mind you can’t just blame that for us going out coz Graeme Jones probably still has nightmares about the header he smacked against the bar from about 2 yards out late oncity for me. I still loathe Shitty with a passion, though, and the sheer utter arrogance of their fans and the cheating of Goater just solidified my absolute hatred of them, so, in answer to the question, I hope United rub their faces in the dirt and leave them crying for another missed chance after spending billions on their team.
