Is it just me, or does anyone else agree that Mario is a useless, overrated sack of sh1t? He was awful on Saturday, not for the first time either. Where the fcuk was he for their second goal? Geovanni had a tap in where Mario should have been. He brings nothing to the team, and why he’s captain is beyond me. We should have bought a replacement in the summer, and I said that in the summer and plenty of times before that too.
Didn’t get to the game on Saturday as I was out of the country, but from what I’ve seen of him this season I remain impressed.
Mario = Quality
Not too sure who you’ve been watching Duke, but i’m pretty certain it isn’t the Mario Melchiot who plays right back for Wigan Athletic!!
Then again, it’s all about opinions, so fair play for putting yourself in the firing line!!!

Mario played well on Saturday I thought. He made us look dangerous on the attack and beats players for fun. I think he’s class and totally disagree with ya
Mario is superb, i can’t understand anyone that thinks otherwise, but like someone else has said its all about opinion, but for me he is one of the best signings we have ever made and i have bin more impressed with his attacking qualities this year as opposed to last year under Fat head.

Definately on your own there; since when was he responsible for Boyce passing the ball to their quickest player and then not launching the ball into row ‘z’ when he had the chance after doing the hard part of chasing him down?
No he aint. I totally agree with Duke, too slow, no tactical awareness of whats going on behind him, relies on others to get him out of the mire when he loses possesion when attacking because he cant be bothered to track back. This guys supposed to be team captain, I havnt once heard him encouraging any player at any time, and lets face it some of them have needed a kick up the jacksy this season. Hes not a leader and his days as a full back are hopefully numbered. And that Mario song is fooking cringeworthy. Indestructable my a r s e. (Just an opinion of course ;) )

The fact that Boycie made a rare error and gave the ball away meant that everyone was out of position.
There are not many right backs in the prem I’d swap Mario for, have you seen how many times Glen Johnson is caight out of postion in a game and he is Englands number one RB FFS. :roll:From Matlock to ManU

I think Mario is class and got experience at the highest level, plus still fairly quick for someone of his age. I do agree that he made a mistake for Hull’s 2nd goal on Sat by not tracking Geovanni but probably didn’t think Boyce would give it away so easy. I do think next summer we should be looking for a replacement for the future of the club.

That said, we should be looking for a replacement R/B in the near future.
I honestly do feel though that Mario Melchiot is probably the best signing we have ever made, and arguably the nearest we have had to having a World Class player at our club.I stick to my opinion about Mario, I think he’s overrated and was never a world beater anyway. He was a misfit at Birmingham, a reject, then a season after he left them. We come in and sign him, and make him our captain! Can’t make sense of it, I’m not having a go at anyone, just stating my opinions. I think he’s overrated and there’s plenty of better full backs defensively and offensively that we should be looking at.
