replace the golf with a bit of clay pigeon shooting at jebel ali or hatta fort or a bit of fishing off umm al quwain or on the other coast off fujayrah and a nice relaxing stay at the hatta fort hotel about 50 miles from dubai up in the mountains on the oman border – and i wish i was there too.
I’d settle for a 40 dirham Russian bird in the West Hotel in Dubai on a Friday night. “Cattle market” doesn’t even come close :shhh: [/quote]
ive been going in the wrong places griff -because ive never been quoted 40 dhs – its usually 500 or so – but they must do good looking high flyers like you a good deal.
next time you are there go to the regal plaza – the york international – and the ascott all near one another near the burjaman center -the are known as the pubic triangle.16 February 2011 at 3:13 pm #59688replace the golf with a bit of clay pigeon shooting at jebel ali or hatta fort or a bit of fishing off umm al quwain or on the other coast off fujayrah and a nice relaxing stay at the hatta fort hotel about 50 miles from dubai up in the mountains on the oman border – and i wish i was there too.

I think I must have missed a zero. And it was the York I meant, not the West. It’s been a while since I went, about three years now. See what I mean on the other thread about having a poor memory.I do remember once in the York some Chinese-type brass eyeing me up (well, she was only human, after all) and me refusing all night even has she dropped her price regularly throughout the night (ooh-er). As it approached chucking out time and she was still available I beckoned her over. She said “OK, great! 40 (or 400) dirhams then?” I said “fook that, you’ve got no takers all night, love – I’ll fook you for nowt, though.”
She – and more importantly her boss – said no, though

i remember explaining to one how i had not been home for 6 weeks and was lonely – so how much for just a cuddle she retorted if your mate gives me 400dhs for a fook you can have the rest of the night cuddling for free !!!
16 February 2011 at 4:16 pm #59699Oh Vat I’m gob smacked, looks like you have been turned to the Light side. You made two main points
1: Roberto is going nowhere is that until something better comes along??? ask Swansea.
2: Performances have improved yes granted but lets be honest it wasn’t hard was it.Know matter what people say football is a result based industry and if Bob takes us down then he has failed and should be sacked which is what you and I have been saying for the best part of two seasons. So please can we have the real Vat back.

You have forgotten the Rattlesnake at the Metropolitan – quality russian fillies in there.
Oh, and i stand by my earlier statement, VAT is indeed insane, and it would appear that Jay T is now his new idol. What an absolute shiner.

Unless his boss has different success criteria for judging his performance, of course. :think:16 February 2011 at 5:29 pm #59721Oh Vat I’m gob smacked, looks like you have been turned to the Light side. You made two main points

Maybe I just got a bit f***ed off at being so p**sed off with my club all the time? The same old moaning and complaints ringing out every time we don’t win a game or have a bit of an off day.
I’ve posted on here, several times, the fact that Whelan has already said that even if we go down, we’ll try and get promoted again WITH Roberto in charge. That video from last week, when he met the website fellas, it went a long way to changing my opinion. How many other clubs would do that for their fans? None.
And no matter what league we are in, I’ll still have a season ticket.
So why keep on moaning and complaining?I don’t know why you bother coming on here moaning and complaining about things all the time. Ok, so we might go down. I’m not bothered. Be nice if we could stay up, but it will be tight. And who would we replace Roberto with? Can you name ONE genuine, viable, candidate? I can’t. The guy obvipously has genuine feelings for the club. So he left Swansea to come to us? yes, because of his history with us, and the fact we are a higher club. if he ended up being headhunted by someone like Liverpool or United in the futuire, then I would wish him all the best.
I’m not Light side, or Dark side. I’m just getting behind my club. the split on here is ridiculous. Light side and Dark side, why don’t we all try and be BLUE for a change?
Can’t win on here, can you?
Griff is right. (Document that, griff! ) Perhaps Whelan’s remit to him is based more on building a structure in the club, rather than results.
Now, in all seriousness, and this goes to ANYBODY on here, you aren’ty falling out with me for choosing to get behind my club, are you?

Said that a week ago i’d have pi$$ed meself laughing.
I just wish more of the moaners and martinez haters would come round.
I often get frustrated with his tactics and his ten minute substitutions, but when i look back, could any of us do any better.
he loves the club and wants the best for the club, and he wouldnt leave us for a mid table team like bruce did.
it would be a miracle if we stayed up, but we’ve done it 5 times before, so why not 6?16 February 2011 at 7:24 pm #59748’I don’t know why you bother coming on here moaning and complaining about things all the time. it would be a miracle if we stayed up, but we’ve done it 5 times before, so why not 6?I get FRUSTRATED with tactics, and things he does, at times. Believe it or not, United fans do with Fergie, Everton fans do with Moyes, and I bet Spurs fans do with Redknapp. That’s what football is about. It was only a few weeks since that Arsenal fans were slagging Wenger off, as well!
I don’t quite share his confidence that we will stay up, and I do believe he can’t half talk a good game and definitely put good spin on things. But i realise how lucky we are to have someone with genuine passion for the club, rather than someone like Bruce who see’s us a ‘stepping stone’. Even Paul Jewell couldn’t see beyond us being a small club, almost lucky to be playing in the top flight.
Roberto see’s us on an even keel, andf despite his little foibles, I am willing to get behind him, in the hope that his long term plans come to fruition. If we CAN stay up, it’ll be interesting to see how we move on from it.
Like JayT said to me at Anfield, it’s like he’s got a plan, and so far, what he has said, he’s basically achieved. he has now said that “after these next 12 games, we won’t look back”, and whilst that’s a hell of a statement for him to make, if we can just manage to stay up, then it’ll be interesting.
He’s playing a very tight gamble, though.

Vat if Bob does manage to turn things round and we start winning games and doing well he will be off like Bruce. Anyone who thinks differently is a fool, Bob will use us as a stepping stone like all the rest.
