while i admit martinez seems a nice guy. and theres no doubt he genuinely cares for the club,but i dont buy into this club lengend bit, he played for us in lower league football,was a decent player, and yes he will go down in latics history as one of the three amigos…. so does that mean we stick with him no matter what. whos the next manager then noel ward, andy lidell, jimmy bullard
Latics have only one member of the coaching staff who has played at top level and that is Dave Watson. Yet Martinez I assume has never seen fit to promote him to 1st team defence coach something we have needed for a long time !
I was shocked right at the start when Martinez appointed Graham Barrow as 1st team coach, he served Latics well in his time but only at lowest level and never managed very successfully even at lower level.there a difinite lack of experience at this level at our club imo, seems strange if we arent using dave watsons experience at first team level, would the players respond to name manager, ie an experienced prem one
