After 3 and a half yrs, in charge our goal difference, currently stands at -104, not good reading at all, after changing to a back3, with wing backs, which admittedly saved us from the drop last yr, is the time now right to revert to a flat back 4, when available Boyce Scharner Alcaraz Figueroa, is in my humble opinion, as good a back 4, as any other, in the bottom half, and would help Al Habsi, out a lot more, after his outstanding form last season, he has been woeful this, I think the Spanish lad should be given a run, as this has been proved by the goals against column, just my opinion by the way,
I said exactly the same to my mate yesterday. Ali is going through a terrible time at the moment and its not all down to the players directly in front of him.
Once again he has parried a ball straight into the oncoming strikers path, this is happening two and three times a match.
Would be worth throwing the young lad in at the deep end to see if he has any mettle. At least he would come out for crosses and perhaps kick the ball towards one of our players rather than straight in to touch. :woohoo:
Said to my mate at the match yesterday that Ali’s not been the same since he had his kid earlier in the season. Clearly suffering from new dad exhaustion / Swiss cheese brain.
I mentioned Ali having some good old healthy competition from another keeper quite a while back but got shot down for such a suggestion ! He hasn’t been as consistent this season. His choices of dealing with balls hit at pace have been questionable !
The loanee goal keeper will never play just like the loanee out players, he takes loanee’s every year and you rarely see any of them….. dont see the point in my opinion…… it was nearly atleast 5 months untill you saw cleverley on a regular basis.

Don’t see how a ‘flat back four’ would help us out. We’ve had more thumpings with four at the back (including a 9-1) than when we’ve had three centre halves with two wing-backs.
In my opinion, we shouldn’t be in a position where we’re relying on the ‘back three’ bailing us out, as at the end of last season we were pressurising teams further up the pitch and then putting them on the back foot when we had the ball, and it isn’t happening at present.
By taking an attacking option away and putting them into a flat back four we’d just be doing the exact opposite of what we need to be improving on.
An increase in tempo and more threat up front is what’s need (in my opinion), and hopefully Kone coming back will improve that.
We have played some really good stuff when reverting to a back four this season yet when we play the 3-4-3 our wing backs have been sh*t to say the least.
The lack of width has been our downfall this season, no real threat going forward and poor in defence. Without nzogbia and mosses in recent years we have chocked our attack… If only we would play the lad from arsenal….
the passing game is fine as long as your prepared to concede goals, Barcelona have kept 1 clean sheet in 3 months.
The problem Martinez is sadly forgetting you have to have forwards on the pitch to score a bag full to balance the scales.
Leaving Kone on the bench for an hr just highlights what a gobshiite he
is.
The last 2 games were teams have pressed high up the pitch has shown how vulnerable we are when teams do their homework.
We need to get it right at he back, then try nick the goals on the break.

I got this info off Helen Keller.
It was a decent post until the ‘gobshite’ bit.
Ignoring that though, I think Kone was left on the bench as he has barely played football for a month.
We pressed teams last season, and that’s one of the reasons we were so good from February onwards.
Gobshyte, Clown these terms will all show their head for the next 5-6 days. If we do continue our FA cup run and beat Reading, they will go back hiding in the dictionary until our next defeat.

I hope your right,,
As for Kone might not be fit ? they don’t play player’s there not match fit , , they play 3 games in 10 days their tired, when are they ever fit to go ?? he’s just had a month with the sun on his back ffs.
I take it he was training over there or was he just killing those 6 inch flying monster bugs that were wizzing past the camera’s.
