Ive given up trying to work him out, just when you think he’s got it right he baffles us again, deffo the perfect example of one step forward and then a massive leap backwards.

Moses scores the winner against WBA earlier in the season and turns the game, but it then takes another half dozen before he gets a start? EXPLAIN?

Sammon comes on against Birmingham and turns the game – Who starts the following week – Di Santo. Again little seen of Sammon since. EXPLAIN?

Stam not used for months so when we are 2 behind with Moses and Sammon on the bench who do we bring on? EXPLAIN?

Got me beat the answers to these???

These decisions are made by people who watch these players day in day out in training. A bit like a race horse, the owners / trainers know if they are firing or not.

I think these decisions are made based on a lot more than what someone does during 10 mins of a previous match.

Using the racehorse trainer analogy, these horses can be seen running at Southwell on a regular basis, they rarely win and they have never won 2 races on the trot ! If it was up to me it would be off to the glue factory !! 8-)

Decisions based on what he sees on a daily basis not what they do on the pitch?

Never in the history of football have points been awarded for training tricks.

What they do on the pitch is the only thing that matters and call me old fashioned but coming on turning a game deserves pitch time rather than looking good on the training pitch!

Yeah all right, but still a fans view.

Beats me Lowey. The sub decisions at Chelsea and Blackpool stumped me too.

At Sunderland Stam can only have come on to replace an injured Boyce. Moses though was once again too little to late. He must wonder what he needs to do to get more time on the pitch.

Have to say that whilst I was annoyed again by di santo coming on, i was pleased he pulled one back for us and broke his duck with a poachers goal, which we’ve not seen for a while.

Some Wiganer’s are utterly embarrassing and really do look for any reason to blame Martinez.

Against Birmingham we were in control and creating chances, we just needed someone to finish off the chances. So we brought on the player most capable – Sammon.

Against Everton we were not in total control and creating few chances. There would be no point in bringing on Sammon when we had nobody to feed him. Im not a fan of Di Santo but his workrate and ability to drop deeper was what was required in today’s circumstances.

Martinez didn’t get much wrong today, but for 2 silly individual mistakes we would have won comfortably 1-0.

John Arkwright – Dear me give a player a chance, every time hes come on hes got on the end of chances, true he’s not scored but how much time has he actually spent on the pitch. Don’t think hes had 90 mins yet, so to say hes not scored in 90 mins means hes no good is a tad harsh!!!

Youth team player – You have a point but Di Santo has had enough chances for me, Sammon can work just has hard and more importantly can hold the ball up better than Di Santo. I do agree Martinez did get most things right, just no this one.
