Last night started off bad for me, as due to a jobsworth at the turnstile, I got seperated from my FOUR year old son. I paid for myself, then made the mistake of shoving him through the turnstile. Cue scouse turnstile operator having a go at me and telling me I should’ve “lifted him through with me” (My lad is a big lad for 4. Tall, size 12 feet. No chance)
I didn’t know, due to being foolish enough to have season tickets. He then told me to go through this small ‘gate’ next to the turnstile myself. Gate? I’ve been through wider women! Honestly, Alex Higgins wouldn’t have got through it, in his later years. The bloke behind me in the queue said “No wonder our club can’t get more fans”. He wasn’t wrong.
But it didn’t stop there. Instead of just letting me in through the exit gate next door, a steward (Another Scouser, naturally) had to take me and let me in at the far corner of the ground. After some frantic searching, I was re-united with my little lad.
I was p’d off, to be honest. Really p’d off.Typical Latics. Jobsworth staff. Stupid systems in place. 2 turnstiles open, and what’s more, they ran out of pies at half time. Drinking session in a brewery, again.
Sod any future friendlies, as like the majority of our fans did last night, I won’t bother. Lucky I’m a long-time fan, as if it was my first match, I wouldn’t bother again.

The gripe is with the attitude of the turnstile bloke, and how he managed to seperate me from my 4 year old child. Or can you not quite grasp that?
Dick.
