If the master escapologists did drop, would McCarthy expect to leave? ‘I can’t really comment on that as I don’t know. It’s down to the club, someone else. I’ m happy at the club and I’m positive we won’t go down.’
As long as he keeps that attitude his career progression will sort itself.
smallest club in the prem???? how do they work that one out??
If they go off crowds it’s QPR – swansea are more or less joint with us!
if it’s money, we made a profit last season, not many others did??
DEFINE SMALLEST CLUB PLEASE?
or is it the usual stereotypical view that southern biased media have against norther clubs?????
vile paper, racist publication and inaccurate as we where safe before the last day of last season!!!!….poor journo’s, not worth reading.
We are from the smallest town or city in the Premier League; we have the lowest number of registered supporters; we have the smallest catchment area for fans; we are the newest club so have the least number of years history and have the smallest number of trophies in our cabinet; we have the lowest income….
smallest club??? why not use the term smallest town then?? lazy journalism emanating from the capital…..youngest club & trophies go hand in hand (obviously)…qpr’s income is only just bigger than ours yet they have the 4th highest wage bill with less crowds than us….does that not make the club in huge debt????

How do you get QPR’s income being only just bigger than ours?
For starters, they’re sponsored by Air Asia who are paying them £2.5 million a year – which is at least double what Wigan receive from 12Bet. In fact, there’s a good chance it may even be three times more than what Wigan receive.
Yes, they get similar crowds to us, but their hospitality and season ticket prices are double the price of ours and they charge between £40 and £70 for a matchday ticket.
Being small has nothing to do with being in debt, or Man Utd would be classed as tiny.
Face it. We’re the smallest club ever to play in the Premier League – and so what?
