I don’t blame him.
He’s young, he wants progression. We aren’t progressing.
Fair enough.
Nobody would blame him. And yet again, the club will have found, developed and moved on a talented young player at a handsome profit.
No need for your thinly veiled attack on the club.[/quote]
Griff,
Why is telling it exactly like it is, a ‘thinly veiled attack on the club’? There was no attack on the club whatsoever in my comment.
On the pitch we have stagnated. No really, we have. We’ve had 3 or 4 seasons out of James McCarthy and what is he now, 21 or 22? I can understand him wanting to move on. I personally think he could be the new Gerrard at Liverpool, though I am also aware Wenger is an admirer. I’m not surprised, as he put in a superb display against them, from a kind of ‘sweeper’ position, if you recall? Everton are also interested. I could see him at any of those clubs.
EDIT: If I was in his shoes, I would want to move on as well. Players want to aim for trophies. Realistically, is he going to get that chance at Wigan? Probably not. Same reason as Rooney left Everton for United.
James is at the start of what could be a superb career.
