McClean has confirmed on Twitter he’s signed for us. Those who are interested his twitter ID is @JMcC_23.
Has been known to be a little controversial with his Twitter feed for those that remember to events earlier this year.
Maybe a good signing in that he’s McCarthys best bud so maybe it’s a sweetner to keep him here until January at least.

8 August 2013 at 5:24 am #119034Weren’t we linked to him prior to him signing for Sunderland?
Anyway, we’re slowly turning into Wigan Celtic.
At what point will ginger hair and a mono-brow become compulsory to enter the stadium? (sorry, could that be classed as racist?)
8 August 2013 at 5:31 am #119035As wiganmon said this lad was a big prospect being looked at by all the top teams, Di Canio just seems to be having a mass clear out .

Unless you both mean that it is strange that Di Canio is letting him go, but your clear-out comment covers that one.
A good signing for me, we are quite quickly building a very decent squad for this level of football.
8 August 2013 at 12:37 pm #119038Off field antics could be a problem but like Cattermole get him away from his buddies and we might have a good one . Hope McCartyy stays now his mate is here .
8 August 2013 at 2:23 pm #119040I thought he closed his twitter account after poppygate

Would love to see what would happen if the club introduced an orange away kit….WATP
8 August 2013 at 5:40 pm #119049Its just been pointed out to me that Mclean has a striking resemblance to the ginger nephew of a former Springfield Park steward who was discussed on here not long ago…

In the first two seasons of its existence, Hindley Celtic – a football club made up predominantly Catholic lads from Hindley – played in orange shirts.

That’s a story that should be included in a book. Do you happen to know of any book that would contain such a story?(Steps aside with a sweeping of the arms)
