“FA will not charge Callum McManaman over his tackle on Massadio Haidara #SSN”Guess the media witch hunt didn’t prevail in the end…

Suppose we may now find out the extent (or no injury) to their player.
19 March 2013 at 8:07 pm #105678The first bit of good fortune we’ve had all season….well over due. Now shut up and move on Geordies. Shit happens.
If its any consellation to them the next time Callum so much as farts in someones direction he will be sent off.
19 March 2013 at 8:27 pm #105681Well I’m genuinely gobsmacked at that decision but glad for the lad given all the unnecessary hype and hysteria generated by the media.
Maybe the FA felt that way too and decided to send out a message that they decide what action should be taken and not the journos and Sky pundits.19 March 2013 at 9:15 pm #105685Anonymous

Got to love the article on the sun’s website about it. They twice refer to him as the “Wigan bruiser” and say he is Scottish. Typical lazy journalism when referring to Wigan.
20 March 2013 at 3:49 pm #105728I’m obviously glad that McManaman will not be charged, Under the FA’s rules that is the correct outcome.
However, as the tackle will not be examined, it leaves Newcastle, their fans and the press complaining that McManaman has ‘escaped’ punishment for a ‘wild tackle’.
It will blow over. If San Marino beat England, it will quickly be forgotten by the press.

20 March 2013 at 5:11 pm #105730I don’t think we will see him for a few games now or he may even be put out to pasture for the rest of the season ! RM did once say that the Prem relegation dog fight was no place for the youngsters of his squad ! The lad does need to be reigned in and his nerves handled before he can fulfil his true potential which has never been in doubt in my view ever since seeing him as a little scamp in the reserves about 4 years ago !
20 March 2013 at 5:22 pm #105731I think it would be harsh leaving him out now.
Maloney, Kone and Macca have been brilliant together.
