Had an absolute blinder yesterday and I really hope he gets his chance against reading from the start but I just can’t see Martinez ‘risking it’.
Do you think he should start?

Don’t see why not.
He’s dangerous on his day, and he’s undoubtedly got the ability to chip in with a goal or create a chance.
18 February 2013 at 7:19 pm #103587Yes.
He seemed to offer a huge outlet yesterday. Espinoza and McArthur looked straight out wide for the run of McManaman. He was an absolute nightmare for their defence.
If he starts with Kone and Maloney then yes, McManaman should play wide. Di Santo has been woeful lately and Gomez shouldn’t be anywhere near the starting 11.
18 February 2013 at 7:36 pm #103590Yeah I agree that he should play. He wants to get at his man and get to the byline, which nobody has done since moses left, apart from Boycey getting forward from Right Wing Back.
I think he would have to drop di santo to get him into the side as he won’t play him instead of Jean who offers more defensively and Martinez seems to rate highly.
18 February 2013 at 10:42 pm #103594A decent game against a bloody awful side doesn’t mean a starting place for me. Have been far from impressed when he has come on in the Premier league and he has offered next to nothing apart from bags of effort. Full backs in the premier league are so much quicker and get much tighter than what was on show for them yesterday.

18 February 2013 at 11:23 pm #103596If Bobby keeps to his general formation for league games, he will not start with Macmanaman.
The reason being going forward he looks great, tracking back and tackling, he’ll play less games than Lee Catt. Was it the united game when, ok he came on late, but was left blowing bubbles chasing one of their players back who set up RVP for the fourth goal.
The lad for me has a bit of red mist that he will have to temper before he becomes a regular first team player.
Having said all that the lad had a great game yesterday and for once took his chance. goodpost

What a journey!18 February 2013 at 11:29 pm #103597giving players 15 minutes here and there at the end of games doesn’t do them any good really. he needs to be starting games thus gaining valuable experience and iam sure he will become a great player. i would deffo start him at reading, his confidence must be sky high.
18 February 2013 at 11:41 pm #103598I think “great” is pushing it a bit.

19 February 2013 at 12:28 am #103602Always been of the belief if you get in the team and play well you deserve to keep the shirt, so based on that he and golobart should start on Saturday, but that’s old School nowadays.
It will be back to the failings of stam, fat bloke and di santo

If we were already safe on the other hand, this would be the ideal time to give him starts and give him the experience for the start of next season. We have to stick with the already experienced for the moment, unfortunately.
19 February 2013 at 3:21 pm #103617He found his level that’s the top and tail of things here ! If he is to get more time on the field then I would suggest a loan spell in the Championship but he is definitely not good enough for the Prem at this moment in time !
