Now then Mutty. Listening to talkradio sitting in car in Cardiff. 15 thousand home fans eh? Cheap tickets too. Get your calculator out and lets hear your excuses. Massive club Sunderland!

      It was 16,000 actually. ;-)

Here’s a few reasons why the crowd was so low:

      1. Its the 8th time that Sunderland have been drawn at home in a cup competition this season.

      2. It was a foul day weather-wise.

      3. It was on TV.

      4. Gus Poyet had already made it known that he would be fielding a team with the fringe players.

      5. 31000 people have shelled out up to £100 each for tickets and travel for the Capital one Cup Final in a fortnight.

Now, on the numbers game, are you aware that 16,000 is still a larger number than the entire number of Wigan fans who have watched their team in 4 FA Cup ties this season?

Southampton took a thousand so just over 15000 home fans. Lets get the calculators out. You hammered us for the % of home fans attending our previous games yet youve gone and managed the worst yet! Im not interested in excuses. Facts are your supports pathetic for a club of your alleged size and your success aint much better!

I’d settle for a home draw against The Blunders in the next round !!! ;)

We’re destined to meet Everton at Wembley aren’t we?? :woohoo:

long overdue for Blunderland to be relegated – the cup runs will see them off

I would definitely take an home draw against Sunderland in the next round, but I have a sneaky feeling that they will avoid the drop after they have lost the CC Final and are out of the FA Cup.

I wud rather Sunderland stay up they are a great club. Give me them over West Ham, Hull, Villa and Swansea anytime. Also it really pi$$es the Barcodes off not being able to lord it over their dear neighbours. The everlasting vision of Sunderland fans mud-skiing down the Shevy end at Springy always makes me chuckle.

I wasn’t there. Nor did I claim to be there. Nor am I with the 1500 or so Wigan fans on the other side of the world at the moment.

Were you one of the 500 who went to Cardiff yesterday, or are you still

Surely you meant to say Wet Spam and Dull. Come on, at least get their names right!

I don’t go to away matches any more for a number of reasons, although the 2 children I brought up to support their HOME TOWN team do so if it does not clash with their part time jobs and school/college studies, so no I wasn’t with the 1500 Wiganers that made the journey to the city where they play both football and the rugby code that IS actually a world recognised sport.

I was waiting for another dose of your bile about ‘Wiganers in Australia’ watching another meaningless game so one of your ‘nomark sports’ teams can claim to be world club champions.

Perhaps you should check with the WRLFC ticket office before getting all cocky about fans down under, 750 tickets were sold in a 1000 seat section set aside for ‘wigan fans’, over 550 of those tickets were sold to ex pats who want to sit in that section, 74 people have booked on official trips and the majority of those have used the game to visit relatives in Australia.

Good god even my mate, a Latics fan, who emigrated nearly 20 years ago and never EVER set foot on central park has got a ticket to go to the game, he told me “it was a good chance to meet people who came from Wigan originally”, no mention of meeting fans who still live here.

Did I say that 1500 people had made the journey from Wigan?

Remember…I deal in facts, not bullshit.

No, you don’t deal in facts you deal in delusion like many of you bitter worriers who still think they are the big cheese in town, when in fact your whole sport is an endangered species.

Perhaps this forum would be better for you.
